Watership Down is one of my favourite childrens books. horrible day
“You're not Dostoevsky,' said the citizeness
'Well, who knows, who knows,' he replied.
'Dostoevsky's dead,' said the citizeness, but somehow not very confidently.
'I protest!' Behemoth exclaimed hotly. 'Dostoevsky is immortal!”

In 3rd Grade, a wonderful Library teacher, a Miss P., read "Watership Down" on Fridays aloud to us; she had a wonderful voice for it, and I am saddened to read of Richard Adams passing after 96 years.
