BlockBuster

Post by nghst »

I don't know if you guys in Europe were part of the Blockbuster movie rental craze from the mid 80s to the mid 2000s. I just watched an interesting documentary on the rise and fall of this 9000 store conglomerate. I myself continued to rent movies until the last few years. The last video rental store in my neck of the woods closed not too long ago. I have bought a few dvds on Amazon lately, but truly I am more with the streaming world now.

I do utilise the streaming services but much like music you can't beat the physical product :D

I watched the same doc a few weeks ago!

It's amazing that they are still surviving the pandemic and still going strong. Just watching that documentary brought back a rush of smells and textures of going into those stores as a child!
