Favorite album covers
What are some of your favorite album covers. You have to either like the album and/or the band. For example, you like Iron Maiden album covers, but don't like the music or the band. Just some of my favorites, but I have others that I like as well ( in no particular order ) :
Spacemen 3 (Playing w/ Fire)
Spiritualized (LAGWAFIS)
Sonic Boom / Spectrum ( cool kaleidescope concept )
Slowdive (Pygmalion)
New Order (Power, Corruption and Lies) - gotta have a Peter Saville cover!
David Gray (New Day At Midnight)
Cocteau Twins (Heaven or Las Vegas)
VU & Nico - just a simple banana
Kraftwerk (Tour de France Soundtrack)
Any Smiths cover

Speaking of muff, i'm suprised no one mentioned that one Black Crowes album ( i don't remember the name of it ) where the uncensored album copy has a closeup picture of a girl's pelvic area and she is wearing a bikini bottom and a few strands of muff are sprouting forth. When i first saw that album cover, it brought a smile to my face

Yeah, I hadn't really given the similarities too much consideration... good point. The vinyl version of A Ghost Is Born quite nice as well - replacing the Egg with a Nest...
It occured to me upon seeing your post about Abbey Road ep that I actually prefer the Stop Your Crying single to the cover of LICD... Its been a while since I've seen the actual covers and mixed them up...
While we're on the topic of great artwork - anyone know of a good vendor of Posters/Prints? I've spent some time looking for Spiritualized/Spacemen 3 related artwork on the net, but never with any luck.

It's like "how much more black could this be? and the answer is 'none'...'none more black'"ORBITAL wrote:'Smell the glove' - Spinal Tap. Refreshing.
Or do you mean the original one with the "greased, naked woman on all fours with a dog collar and leah round her neck being invited to smell a glove (you should see what they wanted her to smell - it wasn't a glove, believe me). It would have been better if the singer had been the victim. There is, after all, a thin line between clever and stupid.
(Someone's started a band called Duke Fame, by the way - after Duke Fame & the Fame Throwers, the band so bad they were still booing them when Tap went on stage - bu they haven't a website at the moment)
