Anyone read the book "Incidences" by Daniil Kharms? Russian avant-garde, an incredible book.
On many nights I've heard bangs on the wall (from my loving neighbour) due to nocturnal laughter. His language is fluid, but incredibly articulate, which only heightens the comic effect. Also its a collection of vignettes, so its a good read during a tube/bus/tram ride.
HIGHLY recommended.
