Woody Allen

Any fans? There's a retrospective playing at the local archive here and his work is just mindblowing. Seven films so far and not a single bad one, albeit "Everything you wanted to know about sex, but were afraid to ask" is close to mediocrity. Otherwise absolutely classic films... His comedy is much more anarchistic (some bits even bring Python and Chris Morris to mind), than I was led to believe and that suits my taste very well. Just saw his first completely serious picture "Interiors" and found that fantastic as well. Heavily influenced by Bergman, but so much more than a mere pastische or homage. Can't wait for the second series to begin at the archive, which will cover his films from 1979 (Manhattan) onwards . Already seen "Crimes and misdemeanors", which I liked.[/code]
