baby clews

Post by clewsr »

Hello, some of you might like to know that my firstborn arrived safely on 2nd January. She's called Ella and was massive! 8lbs, 9 1/2 ozs. They came home yesterday, and she seems to like to stay up all up all night, like her Dad used to. :?

The whole thing has been mad as fuck. In a good way. Suddenly everything changes.

She's currently lying contendedly beside me listening to the new slipstream single. Cheers Mr Black.

And happy new year to y'all.

Congratulations! :D that is one big baby! nice to see she already appreciates slipstream. Have u heard the Antsy Cowfold album, it's popular alternative songs (hendrix, beach boys, tom waits etc..) performed in lullabie style for little ones?...a beauttiful thing really.

Excellent. Congratulations etc.

That's really cool. I love kids, but the thought of actually having them ourselves (worse - DECIDING to) makes me crap myself.

Meanwhile, I like this - and you might, too:

that's beautiful ... keep playing her lovely music. don't start her on the saints til she's six or seven months old.

also, the stooges: not suitable for children under thirty six months.

Very good news mate - congratulations. You and your other half are now entering the most fascinating, rewarding, emotional, satisfying, proud and stimulating time of your entire lives. (I'll keep quiet about the frustrating, sleepless and generally bizarre aspects as these are totally overshadowed by the former).

I'll clink a glass to the 3 of you.

so, I've been off work all week playing loads of cd's. Here's a what I can remember of Ella's playlist so far, as you might expect I've gone for the more easy listening side:

magnetic fields - 69 love songs
insides - euphoria
jack drag - the sun inside
edgar jones jones soothing music for stray cats
marvin gay - whats going on
herbiliser - very mercenary
charlatans - some friendly
laura cantrell - not the trembling kind
black box recorder - the facts of life
bees - sunshne hit me
bell and sebastian - tigermilk
badly drawn boy - hour of the wilderbeast.
alabama 3 - outlaw
craig amrstong - as if to nothing
mark kozelek - whats next to the moon
air - premiers symptons
spacemen 3 - recurring
duty springfield - dusty in mephis
staple singers - soul folk in action

she's also had listen of the Ansty Cowfold album (very nice), and, ahem, Rock Baby - rock classics as lullabies, which is quite good fun

I've been picking a cd from each shelf of my cd rack, so we've ended up listening to some I haven't picked up in years, which is nice. I've got to 'm' so far. I think she likes the staple singers the best though - must buy more of them.
