The Royal Albert Hall on vinyl is why Spiritualized is my favorite band. I heard it and instantly fell in love.

1, no i dont think so (though i havent played mine for nearly 15 years). it's just a pressing with anyway on one say, and why dont you smile on the otherdselevan wrote:Is there any difference between the Anyway that you want me 7" and the one that came with Lazer Guided Melodies?
Also, what's the deal with the Fierce 7". What version of Feel So Sad is it?
Sorry - I've just reread this page and was wondering if this was some exceptionally rare effort to set the record for world's biggest record (all puns intended) or just a typo? I'm really hoping it's the former..maybe a cheeky ploy by Pete K. to match Jason's 'Highest Show on Earth' by releasing the 'widest record on earth'?dselevan wrote:Check out what I got. I was the only bidder on this!

Well given I was talking about potentially an outragously large portion of vinyl, I think my contribution was quite substantialdselevan wrote:This is the Other section and if we aren't going to talk about vinyl, than the only thing left to talk about is bootlegs and videos, at least for me.
Well just console yourself with your full 72" worth of Spectrum...you could fit a hell of a lot of music on that one!dselevan wrote:Gotcha.
I didn't know they talked about Spectrum there. I think it was pretty clear after looking at the picture, but not sure. 1.99, who cares!
TooMilk really fucked things up. We could have both gotten that 7" for 10 bucks if it didn't turn into a goddam bidding war. No one else really cares about that 7" and there were only 3 people bidding. Me, my friend Grant, and Toomilk. Damnit toomilk...
Eh...so your splurge of what you've bought, bidded on and had for breakfast aint stained the rest of the sections?dselevan wrote:This is the Other section and if we aren't going to talk about vinyl, than the only thing left to talk about is bootlegs and videos, at least for me.

It was, as you say, an excerpt from Dreamweapon that Cheree put out. That simple. Nice packaging.toomilk wrote:The Cheree record seems pretty cool. An "excerpt" from Dreamweapon...pretty cool.
It seems like it's from a fanzine or something. Maybe someone (Ian) has info on this...
Ok brother, I hear you...it's your ball...dselevan wrote:Dude I started this thread and it is clearly marked. If you don't care about ebay, skip it. If you think my Suicide story is better than the Slim's 1995 show I posted, you are a little slow.
I got that amusing and pertinant paraphrase in my head now...used it informally by mistake in a meeting yesterday and got some strange looks...so no change there thenThe Jig wrote:dselevan wrote:I'm surprised FleaBay doesn't carry a currency converter themselves.
I dunno...maybe a whole thread devoted to Spiritualized fan with good record collection pimps out his missus could amuse...The Jig wrote:dselevan wrote:I found a guy with the Glass Perfect Prescription but his wife sold it around town.
That's bloody funny but please spare us the details next time.
Isn't that how this thread started?dselevan wrote:

What's the full name of the Big City remix? Also is it basically a slightly more driving, longer version of the original or does it sound like a totally new mix?dselevan wrote:When I started the thread I wanted to stop.
Since than I've run into some more income at work to support my habit, and have decided it is totally worth it.
I am listening to Big City Remix right now and it is totally worth the 10 bucks I spent on it. Now I love ebay,

really super record store, really nice people:Ads wrote: was wondering if there were any particular private stores with decent bargains (was thinking of US ones, what with the £ being so strong against the $).
If your rotel's got a phono input try the NAD 533 that's basically a discontinued rega P2 but cheaper and with a goldring electra cart to boot (the P2/3 price doesn't include the price of a cart). You can then get a better phono stage if needed when funds allow. On the other hand you seem to be able to pick up 2nd hand technics, stanton etc DJ decks very cheap these days...but there's a reason for that - they were overpriced in the 1st place when beatmixing was all the rage, plus they use a direct drive mechanism that was demonstrated by Linn in the early 1970's to be inferior to a belt drive in producing hi-fi sound...on the plus side a 1200 is a sturdy beast and technics continue to provide the necessary tech support if it needs fixing which is something worth bearing in mind when buying 2nd hand.Ads wrote:As for the record player, that is something that I'm definately considering. Any recommendations, bearing in mind I haven't exactly got the worlds most audiophile system (Rotel Amp, Marantz CD player, old pair of Mission Speakers)? I was looking at the Rega (3?) player which I think is generally considered to be a half decent effort. Anything else out there which is good but won't break the bank? Any help would be appreciated.
