One of my Cats has gone missing

Post by simonkeeping »

Rather random I know but its not good. hes been gone since tuesday morning. long shot but if anyone lives in shepherds Bush and sees a boy tabby cat with nice stripes and crazy long whiskers please let me know. Im going out of my mind with worry. Its like having very hairy small children gone missing.

My cat went missing when he was just a baby. He ended up about a mile away from the house cowering in some bushes from a dog. He was gone for just over 24Hrs...however he turned up on a street where i didn't think he went. I say this as from a young age I took him out walks...the same route twice daily.
Hope he turns up...as it is an awful feeling and i'm sure he will...
Since then I've left him in cupboards and in the shed for nearly a day at a time...needless to say he spends most of the time at his grans now.

Ask the kids that stay near you who would maybe know your cat...I know it's a longshot but kids do take interest in cats and dogs and they are keenly aware of there surroundings plus they will give you a straight answer...thats how I came to find mine when he got lost.

Best of luck and try not to worry...he's probably just realised that old Mrs "such and such" will give him a different dinner than you would.

Take care

I hope you find your cat Simon. I can appreciate how worried you must be... But cats are amazing at reappearing after some time on the prowl.
All the best man.

I wish you the best of luck. The 15 year old Burmese cat who shares my home (she was bought without actually belonging to anyone so I don't classify her as 'mine' which irritates my other half) is one of my best friends and I'd be lost without her.

Fingers crossed mate!

Let us know what happens! I know it's probably totally wrong of me, but I've always worried/cared more about my pets than I ever have about any family or friends... I hope this turns out well.

I'm in Kentish Town (in North London, next to Camden Town) so not in the same part of London. Neighbours and local animal lovers are probably the best people to ask to keep a look out... I think your advice to ask the local kids is a good one.

 Ooops...I wasn't prying. I was trying to make a little light joke...i.e. you say you are more fond of animals than people...you stay in London...could you be ol' Mrs "such and such"?

I'll stick to the maths as my jokes (like maths) are clearly a bit of an equation.

Next time i'm down in London i'll pop by for tea.

Take care

That's great news Si.

Plenty of "Mummy and Daddy were so worried" to him over the next few days and he'll get the message.

aww. Good thing he came back. My cat has escaped a few times, but he is too fat and lazy to really go anywhere.

This leads to a question: does having a cat make you like Spiritualized? Vice versa?

what a beauty! worth every penny!!!

I think ive come to the bottom of the disaperence. Theres a new cat in the neighbourhood on some reign of terror. My other cat Jim came home last night hobbling along with a big bite mark on his leg, his back leg is doubled in size from swelling. poor little fella. Apparently the word on the street is that because its spring the lads are all full of hormones. dangerous times!

It must be the season for bad cat kharma. My beloved housemate Fudge appeared last night drenched in blood looking completely freaked out and with with a shredded ear. I live on a farm and there are some scary monster cats about and one must have cornered her.

Some TLC and a dish of tinned tuna ought to sooth her a little.

Here's to Fudge, my beloved cat who died today after some horrible respiratory thing destroyed her over the last week.

Very touching messages - thanks to all.

Fudge was a great companion so I think I'm justified in how bad I feel! Mind you over 15 years is impressive for Burmese anyway. The kids are already asking about another cat! Not just yet... ...but one day.

Mark:
So sad to hear the news of Fudge.
As you know I am not the biggest cat lover in the word but she had a way of crawling into your heart. The way no other cat had ever done. To me at least.
Raise a glass or two and toast the 15 long years you spent together.
I know I will here.

Sorry to hear about Fudge she looked a really great cat. I know how you feel, we had to put our cat down 2 years ago after taking her from a sanctuary originally. We've been feeding a stray that turned up a year ago but i feel we're probably only now ready to take in a cat of our own again.

Hey Runcie ... so sorry to hear about Fudge. Man, I can't imagine. I was too young to be deeply affected when my mom's cats passed away. My wife and I share our home with Oscar Jimenez (black & white) and Nico (gray & orange):
