Recent Songs You've Heard on TV

Oh how times and styles change.....

I have two surprises over the past week.

The first is for HBO's new show Boardwalk Empire, which is an incredible show. Highly recommended. I couldn't believe the song they use for the title sequence: BJM's "Straight Up and Down" !!! Doesn't really fit with the era the show takes place in, but still cool.

The other was shown during a commercial break while watching South Park. There's a new game coming out called Fable 3, and the commercial uses The Black Angels' "Young Men Dead." Couldn't believe me ears.

Just saw a Target commercial with Justin Timberlake. The song playing was "Entrance Song" by The Black Angels. I choked on my food...

Richard Ashcroft's Are You Ready is in a VW commercial, and I heard Oasis' Shock of The Lightning in another car commercial last year.

Weirder for me has been hearing BRMC's Spread Your Love and Red Eyes & Tears in recent commercials for pet food and an awful-looking TV show.

That would be Boots. Who I'd personally like to thank for murdering that song by playing it every 15 minutes on tv for the last 3 years.
