Spacemen 3 live Den Haag 1985

It's fairly unlikely you'd have made it here without ever having heard of Jason's previous incarnation. So here you go, talk away...

Spacemen 3 live Den Haag 1985

Post by coffeepotman »

Has anyone heard this recording? It just popped up on youtube and it's great..http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7MXGOZcfyX4.

I love those early Spacemen recordings from 85 and this sounds excellent, check it out! and if anyone knows where a download or CD can be found please point me in that direction. It's not here http://spacemen3.blogspot.com/ but there are several great recordings available including Mercia Park Leisure Centre Coventry - 27.11.1985 which I'd highly recommend.

There are notes that say this is 1987 which makes sense. Doesn't sound much like 1985. Good though!

Wow, this is quite a find! Thanks a lot for pointing it here!
Sound is awesome, indeed too bad it's so compressed... maybe we can try to contact the uploader and kindly ask for a lossless copy, or at least for a better bitrate?

Nice find, thanks for posting.

Does anyone have the tools to rip it and upload here? Would be much appreciated.

If someone can upload mp3's (or better, lossless files) that would be appreciated.

I'm 'wrestling' with some piece of crap called 'download helper' and it's just a mess... doesn't appear when it should, then when it appears the 'convert download' option just plain doesn't work.

If anyone's using Mozilla, can they recommend a plug-in that actually works for downloading/converting vids from places like YouTube, etc.

Also, is it me or is the first track on the vid kind of speeding up and slowing down? Sounds really weird - still, a cracking find!

Original audio format on the .mp4 file I retrieved from youtube is AAC 44100Hz stereo 96kbps (the best quality I could find using DownloadHelper) and I extracted an MP3 44100Hz stereo 96 kbps with VLC. If somebody have a better quality version, please share!

I use http://www.dvdvideosoft.com/?dvsapps=true to download stuff from youtube, works pretty well for me. Otherwise to record from the internet I'll just use Audacity.

Thanks for the upgrade Laz69.

I'm really digging this live set - there's no real bass (like most boots) but the rest of it is incredibly clear sounding, definitely one of the better boots... and quite a show! Very impressive.

Love the audience gap where it sound like there's just one person in the audience clapping!? (Something tells me there probably was just one person!)
