Yup. Fully seated venue with visuals promised.
If it's anything like the clip below I may just have to leave the car at home and settle down in a higher state

I’m going to buy a ticket for that. I may not be able to get to it for health reasons, but fuck it, I won’t get in without a ticket..
Re: Spectrum - Drogheda Arts Festival May 2018
just got a ticket for this.
According to festival page its 'Sonic Boom on keys & electronics accompanied by Jason Holt on guitar. Playing the music of Spectrum, EAR, and Spacemen 3. This is a fully seated gig augmented by a stunning visual backdrop.'
... also there is a night bus back to Dublin at 1.45 am. perfect.

Wow, just watched that clip and I really want a piece of that. Right up my street. I hope that he brings this show to the UK (specifically to Brighton but I guess I could handle a trip to London for this).sunray wrote:Yup. Fully seated venue with visuals promised.

On a side note, I always considered myself to be more aligned with Jason's output than Pete's but, through my introduction to modern psych and drones and then having more involvement with bands of that nature through my record label, I definitely find myself gravitating towards Pete's end of the spectrum (pun fully intended).

I'm assuming this will be the set up for Drogheda: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=titxck6mbqs
In regard to the previous clip that is particularly stunning. I do think The End is one of the best songs Pete has ever written, floors me every time and ALWAYS ends too soon.
I saw Wayne Kramer in the Drogheda Arts Centre, as part of the Arts Festival, in 2015. Comfy, tiered seating and decent sound. Wayne was being interviewed by Tony Clayton-Lea and then performed a solo acoustic set followed by a full band electric set. He was happy to hang around after too.
The following night they had Wolfgang Fleur from Kraftwerk playing in an underground carpark, unfortunately I wasn't able to make that gig.
The festival has also hosted Terry Riley, David Holmes, Terry Hall and Thor and Friends in recent years. Pretty cool having stuff like that going on not far from my doorstep. Usually only get that quality in Dublin and nowhere else.

Hi Joycey in case you hadn't noticed- you might be interested to know that Gnod are touring Ireland in February along with the excellent Woven Skull, including Cork.sunray wrote:No no....force of habit response is all!
Woven Skull are excellent, I saw them at Supersonic festival and they were the best new discovery for me.

Excellent gig in a great venue with lovely visuals. A mixture of Spacemen & Spectrum songs with a few surprises. I Know They Say & All Night Long from Highs, Lows & Heavenly Blows, as well as Call The Doctor from Perfect Prescription!
Let Me Down Gently sounded fantastic as did the version of Big City. Sat there with a big smile on my face for a lot of the show & really looking forward to the Moth Club in a few days.
