Sonic update

It's fairly unlikely you'd have made it here without ever having heard of Jason's previous incarnation. So here you go, talk away...

wow, jim n sonic ... should be worth turning an ear to ...
i'm one of the lazy spiritualized-then-spacemen fans who's never got into spectrum or e.a.r. but this might be interesting, if only for another jim spoken word track.

"Roll on October! Sonic Boom is supporting the telescopes - not strictly Spiritulized related but worth knowing "

from bowlie's spiritualized thread. it could convievably be as a dj, but there we go.

I've heard the Jim Dickinson/Sonic Boom track Johnny Ace and I thought it was tremendous. Johnny Cash vibes with Pete's wobble all over it and excellent spoken vocals completing the procedure.

Took me by surprise but its excellent. A step to the side.

Veiko:

At the very bottom of that page, it states "Production units available to order soon!" so I'd assume you'll be able to purchase.

Cheers!

Can't give too much away, but the October Sonic date mentioned above may have something to do with the following few words:

London - Friday - 7th - Flowers of Hell - Telescopes - Fuxa - Boom

Found this interview with Randall Nieman from Fuxa, and it gives away a little bit of info on the new Spectrum album and the Jim Dickinson collaboration.

Apparentley the new Spectrum album is finished and will be called 'On The Wings Of Mercury'. No indication of a release date though.

I also picked up the Fuxa album 'The Modified Mechanics of This Device', which includes the 'radio edit' of Girl (featuring Sonic). Does anyone know if this version is different to the 7" version?

Tickets are available now, see http://www.ticketweb.co.uk/user/?region ... ent=134128. Also highly recommend the first band as, er, I'm in it.

interesting read. I've read lots of Sonic interviews and I think this one is the most, um, "expressive" in the sense of emotions that I've seen. I always like to know where people are coming from with their art. I mean, our art reflect our lives and knowing about the artist is always inspiring.
