Link to Velvets acetate

It's fairly unlikely you'd have made it here without ever having heard of Jason's previous incarnation. So here you go, talk away...

Link to Velvets acetate

Post by Old Git »

Look, I know it's not a Spacemen 3 gig but I just thought that this might be of use to others who love the Velvets... It's the mp3s from the acetate that for $155,000 on ebay. Worth a listen...

How about the acoustic versions of Perfect Perscription that I know that Mick Manning has? There must be some other dream S3 takes/versions out there - can anyone post them?

Anyway, link is: 'shttp://musictravellers.blogspot.com/2006/12/velvet-undergroud-1966-100000-dollar.htmlold'

(Hope it works!)

Woah... strange 'not-quite-there' version of 'Waiting For The Man', although has a very similar feel to the released song...no drums! Weird hearing it like that. Different vocal too.
They never really played it like that again did they - by 1969 it was a loose country blues song.
Thanks for the mention Ben, never really heard about this, or I forgot - according to the net, prior to this turning up in a New York car-boot-sale the only copies in existence were rumoured to be owned by Moe Tucker and one David Bowie...
