Bootleg Covers???

It's fairly unlikely you'd have made it here without ever having heard of Jason's previous incarnation. So here you go, talk away...

Has anyone ever designed any covers for their Spacemen 3 bootlegs???
Would love to see what others have come up with as mine have been absolute rubbish so far!!!

I've tried but I can never get the size right. If I size an image at 12cm x 12cm it never comes out that size when I print.
I need some decent dtp ware. I can do it at work on a Mac (Pagespeed, Quark), but only in black and white, while my pc at home doesn't have any decent creative packages.
Is there anyware on the Net to download free dtp software. Preferably something that allow you to draw squares, place photos and text and all to the right size?

Getting the size right can be tricky!!!
Best way i have found is to use a prog to do it

CDCoverPrint is pretty good, that resizes the image file to the correct size, but assumes that the back spine is also part of the image

CdCover is another good one, this lets you place an image on the back cover and then add text to the spines

I tend to use a combination of the two, depending on what covers i am printing.

Well i guess by the lack of responses that no one has had a a go at desigining bootleg covers.
What i was after was a "generic" cover that could be adapted to any bootleg...i guess its back to the drawing board/ photoshop then!!!

Discus works great on a Mac, and it's available for Windows as well.

You get a lite version (which is plenty good) with the purchase of Roxio Toast Titanium.
