Re: STEREOLAB w/ Sonic Boom ((DAT MASTER)) Troubadour 1996
the tape i heard sounds like i was not mixed in much....
any tapes without the 'is my fat bald head blocking your view ' comment that appears to have my bits on it would be much apreciated. ditto any of the shows i played w/ stereolan -especially the forum, astoria , garage or Kilburn irish centre .apart from the 8 tax on ABC music when i first started playing with them(cd2 trax 3 to 10 - not 2 trax as stated ) I have no copies of those killer shows.
if anyone can help , cds to son ic boom c/o mill outlet ,33 southam rd , dunchurch ,rugby would be gratefully received

Just have to chime in here... I was at this show and it's worth the hassle trying to track it down.

Re: STEREOLAB w/ Sonic Boom ((DAT MASTER)) Troubadour 1996
if anyone has a copy of the set from the sonic / stereolab set at manchester uni, i'd happily pay in blood, sweat, tears, budvar, etc.
Re: STEREOLAB w/ Sonic Boom ((DAT MASTER)) Troubadour 1996
Re Up? I stumbled upon this forum, looking to download this set. Does anyone still have this? I noticed it's not on vinyl... So if anyone wants to help a poor kid, please do.
Re: STEREOLAB w/ Sonic Boom ((DAT MASTER)) Troubadour 1996
I have a cassette version of this, so not coming directly from DAT master. A re-up of the master would be great indeed.

Do you have dropbox? Dropbox is a very easy way to transfer folders of files.

I do have dropbox, but not a lot of space.
also have Box.com, loads of space there but file size is limited to 200 MB per (due to it being a free account) - i could make RAR segments and put 'em there.
here's the folder link, it's 4 RAR segments, you need all four, then you un-RAR them.

Re: STEREOLAB w/ Sonic Boom ((DAT MASTER)) Troubadour 1996
NICE! Thank you, sir. I really favor Stereolab's raw/live sound.
Re: STEREOLAB w/ Sonic Boom ((DAT MASTER)) Troubadour 1996
Thanks a lot for re-upping master version Dave!
(off topic, but do you think you would have a chance to upload your tapes mentioned in this topic http://forum.spiritualized.me/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=10104 That would be great as well Thank you kindly again.)

Re: STEREOLAB w/ Sonic Boom ((DAT MASTER)) Troubadour 1996
right, Gent needs to be digitized, then.
Re: STEREOLAB w/ Sonic Boom ((DAT MASTER)) Troubadour 1996
Very grateful for this but I must admit to not being terribly IT-savvy. I tried unzipping these and my computer told me that parts 2, 3 and 4 are all corrupt. I can get some of the other files to play, but do I need all 4 parts of the download?davedecay wrote:here's the folder link, it's 4 RAR segments, you need all four, then you un-RAR them.
Sorry for being behind the IT times...
Re: STEREOLAB w/ Sonic Boom ((DAT MASTER)) Troubadour 1996
Mark, check your email... i'll dropbox the files to you... should be uploaded in an hour or so...
Re: STEREOLAB w/ Sonic Boom ((DAT MASTER)) Troubadour 1996
Works fine for me on a Mac - might be because you're not using a .rar file-specific unpacking program. If you're on a PC, try downloading and using this:
http://www.rarlab.com/download.htm
Apologies if you've used something like this already Runcible, and thank you very much for the upload, davedecay

Thanks so much! Be sure to let me (us) know if you are looking for something!davedecay wrote:right, Gent needs to be digitized, then.
I had no issue decoding rar's with 7-Zip on windows. It may happen that such files are not downloading correctly sometimes though...
Re: STEREOLAB w/ Sonic Boom ((DAT MASTER)) Troubadour 1996
Whilst renaming the tracks to my taste and skimming through the songs, I noticed some slight issues with the setlist. I reckon this matches up with the separate files as they came out of the un-rar program; I gave my own names to tracks 1 and 12.
1. Audience
2. French Disko
3. Motoroller Scalatron
4. Melochord Seventy-Five
5. The Extension Trip
6. Lo Boob Oscillator
7. Spark Plug
8. The Noise Of Carpet
9. Anonymous Collective
10. Percolator
11. Super-Electric
12. Audience/Synth
13. Ronco Symphony
14. Metronomic Underground
15. Crest
16. Ping Pong
17. Stomach Worm (can't yet tell if this is incomplete as per the original setlist; it certainly has a start and end)
18. Spinal Column (not mentioned on the original setlist)
Hope this is useful - I can't wait to listen to this properly, it sounds incredible

Re: STEREOLAB w/ Sonic Boom ((DAT MASTER)) Troubadour 1996
Setlist is likely coming from putuco's cassette version (which is 537 Mo and 89:51 long). DAT master is complete I think
And Thanks for the full setlist by the way!

Re: STEREOLAB w/ Sonic Boom ((DAT MASTER)) Troubadour 1996
iTunes says we've got 96:25 of Stereolab action here. Perhaps a tape fill was added to the original master at some point? That would explain the full (as I can tell) version of Stomach Worm and the presence of Spinal Column...
Re: STEREOLAB w/ Sonic Boom ((DAT MASTER)) Troubadour 1996
I would rather tend to think that a 120-min DAT tape has been used here, and that incomplete cassette version was actually a 90-min analog tape.

That too. I wish they had more noise albums like TRNBWA.

Is a recording of this still knocking around at all please?
