It's fairly unlikely you'd have made it here without ever having heard of Jason's previous incarnation. So here you go, talk away...

Description Spacemen 3
Forum, Enger, Germany
1989.

1989-06-05

This is my first upload so hopefully this works out ok. any criticisms are welcome.

I got this off of Ebay and i have removed various interviews and music videos on this that are not allowed on this site. This is the concert only footage of Spacemen 3's show at the forum in enger, germany. I consider the quality of this to be better than the arnhem show on this site. The recording is fuzzy and they sound fairly loud; it is abrasive to listen to and one audience member shouts at them to stop after suicide. so this may be for diehard fans. Unfortuantely i do not have nor have been able to get ahold of a reauthoring program so i had to seperate each song into its own title but when made this dvd will play through the songs continously; there just arent any menus. Im surprised this isnt here but here it is.

lineage: unknown origin--->ripped from dvd by dvdshrink---->you

video att: mpgv, 720x480, 29.97 fps (unsure if its pal or ntsc but probably ntsc)

audio att: mpga, stereo channels, 48,000 hz,384 kb/s

quality: like i said, better than arnhem. not pro quality or anything like that but clear recording. you can hear the details of the fuzz sound without massive distortion except when the whole band is going nuts with noise. the camera is stable, focusing mostly on sonic boom but showing other members at times.

approx. 60 minutes long.

md5 checksum is attached. dont have any artwork for it.

tracklist:

01. Rollercoaster
02. Transparent Radiation
03. Things'll Never Be the Same
04. Tuning/How Does it Feel
05. Take Me to the OTher Side
06. STarship
07. REvolution
08. Suicide
09. Bo Diddley Jam
10. Mary Ann (incomplete)/ ending

line-up:
J Spaceman aka Jason Pierce: Fender Telecaster, possibly a Thinline, most likely
Pete "sonic Boom" Kember: Vox Teardrop, Vox continental, drones
Willie Carruthers : possibly Gibson Thunderbird
Johnny Mattock : Drums and percussion

Is this the one that is filmed over Jason's shoulder?

Yes. Usually it comes with some SP3, early Spiritualized and Darkside videos and the Alan McGee interviews (from Rapido???) tacked on the end. Most of these additions must have been removed to conform with Dime policy on officially released material.

Then it's well worth downloading if you don't have it. The version of Suicide at the end is fantastic - Johnny Mattock left on the stage on his own pounding away at his drums....

My almost five year old upload of this (but with the offending videos and interviews left) is still running here:

I found my old hard drive...
