Spacemen footage. Rare?

It's fairly unlikely you'd have made it here without ever having heard of Jason's previous incarnation. So here you go, talk away...

Spacemen footage. Rare?

Post by henryapplecore »

Hi everyone.

Had an old video digitised which contained a slew of Spacemen footage which ISN'T on youtube. An MTV interview with Pete and Jason, the Walkin With Jesus video, a Spiritualized MTV interview from '91 and Sonic's infamous ULU 1990 support gig for MBV. Problem is, I can't figure out how to convert it and what-not. Can anyone help? It's all on 2 DVD-RW in VOB files, apparently. Someone willing to help out? Maybe we should do a hard-drive collection like the recent Spiritualized one? Just load one up with every shred of S3 footage possible? Anyone have the town and country gig on video / digital?

vob files are standard dvd files.. all properly authored dvd:s use that format.
It would be much better if you shared those instead of converting since that almost certainly would result in a loss of quality.

I'm really curious what the MTV Spacemen interview is like. 8)
W: What are we supposed to do with that?
M: Eat it.
W: Eat it? Fucker’s alive.
M: Yeah, you’ve got to kill it.
W: Me? I’m the firelighter and fuel collector.

Right, I've found someone who can help me zip these up and whatnot. We'll figure out a way to upload them for all at the best quality we can. All the footage came off an old video anyway so...

The MTV interview is alright - nice lighting in it!

What is a DVD tree?

Still have these but I think it best I send them to someone here to copy and return back to me. Anyone willing?

VOB files usually reside in folders specifically named for DVD playback, like so:

I'll start off the DVD tree or vine or what have you.
A few copies then the rest of you can make copies for others.

I'll also try to share most or all of it online.
Either Dimeadozen or Zombtracker.

Thanks! Is there a complete version of the interview cut off right at the end? That didn't seem familiar and sounded potentially a lot more interesting than yet more stuff about drugs, recording separately and the demise of Spacemen 3, which I think I've heard enough of by now.
I'm like Evel Knievel, I get paid for the attempt. I didn't promise this shit would be good!
