Man, this is so cool! This demo was tagged on to the end of the "Model Shop" OST. What we have here is totally stripped down and without the horns allowing Mark Andes' bass to really stand out. As much as I like the cut that made their 2nd LP I think this demo is superior.

Turn it up!

Jonathan Richmond & The Modern Lovers -Its You, the lead song from the `Its Time For ` album from 1986 , which strangely enough as I look through Jonathan`s back catalogue on the internet seems to be the only album that's not available anywhere , which is mad as its a stone cold claim to his best album ever , I blame Rough Trade for not making it available ,whatever , this an amazing song I keep coming back to ,http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ai7kk4K8Zmk

If you like that , the album it came from is here , which really does show Jonathan Richmond at his best, IMO and one day...

I LOVE that Jonathan Richman album, but my favorite would have to be either I, Jonathan or Rockin and Romance. The former is just a solid all-around album, with an incredible rerecording of "That Summer Feeling" - easily in my Top 10 favorite songs ever - and the latter has "I'm Just Beginning to Live" and "Now is Better than Before." Both have that signature so-meaningful-and-beautiful-but-so-simple-he-makes-it-look-easy feeling. Rockin and Romance was another Rough Trade release that has sadly been overlooked by most music fans. I was lucky enough to find it on vinyl and a few months later came across a copy of the I'm Just Beginning to Live/Circle I 7".

Great live video from around that period on youtube: http://youtu.be/SBxsqwrZClM

So simple and beautiful.

checking around a bit today, Jonathan Richman`s back catalogue is incredibly badly served, all over the place really , tune I pick out last night and f#cked up the the link to has 60.000 hits but you can`t buy it anywhere !! how does that work ??better link hopefully http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ai7kk4K8Zmk , so enjoy, heard this 30 yrs. ago but it still press`s the buttons,

This is a demo version of the tune on Stills' often overlooked 2nd solo LP. Ok, so this guy is apparently a dick - or he once was when drugs consumed his life (same with Crosby?). Whatever the case, there is no denying he can write beautiful songs and is an underrated guitarist (and has a great voice too).

A perfect tune on a crisp, cold but beautiful sunny day here in the Pacific Northwest:

Just trying our new YouTube feature. See that YouTube button just above the right hand side of the text entry box when you post? Click on that and just enter the bit from the YouTube URL after the "v=" bit. It will embed the video on your post so people can see it quickly.

Check it out with this killer Tappa Zukie tune. The URL is this: "http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xwe_xNEUgxA" so I just took the "Xwe_xNEUgxA" bit, and this is how it looks.

Tip of the hat to you Nightwash for setting this up! Thanks dude...
