senate race

Post by The Dr »

the republicans prove that by pointing and saying 'he's an idiot' without backing it up can sway the general public and give political control to the opposistion. albert e said all great spirits face violent opposition from mediocre minds and goethe and nietzsche said that the herd fear greatness (fear of the ideal?) and respond with aminosity and violence. well done america 'he hasn't walked on water yet' 'he only managed to to feed ten thousand with 5 little loafs and two fish, pathetic'

bravo!

the republican campagin (koch brothers and all) ran adds attacking obama for not living up to the unrealistic expectations that were placd on him instead of focusing on issues. consequently congress has now gone to a majority for the republicans- blocking most things the current administration can do- simply though attack adds- without offering policy- the same party that spent years attacking the president due to skin colour (where was he born?! he's not white!) and other nonsense, have shown that if you are negative and shout loudly then you can get your way. i find it sickening

Mid term elections and the Democrats were ripe to be picked off riding on the President's very low approval rating. The honeymoon with President Obama has been over for a while now. Nothing has gotten done in about 4 years. Blame the republicans, the Tea Party and him. Politicians suck. All of them. No viable third party not bought and paid for.
The worst bit is having to sit thru months of these incessant ads that just got nastier and nastier some based in fantasy not fact.
Tables are turned even more against the Republicans in two years. Lets see what happens then.
All you can do is show up and cast your vote. Unless you live in Florida.

It was quite the election here in Michigan and left me somewhat stunned but hardly surprised. As a man who is gay, my district is now represented in the state House by Gary Glenn, the man who co-authored the state constitutional amendment banning gay marriage in Michigan. He also heads up the Michigan chapter of the American Family Association which was labeled a hate group in 2005 by the Southern Poverty Law Center. We also re-elected a right wing Dow trust fund baby nut job to Attorney General who proven to be completely partisan in a non-partisan position and operates under his own set of laws. Under these conditions, I'm reminded that validation should originate from within.

I too believe that informed, common sense voters will help the pendulum equilibrate; I believe the dislike of the "Nanny State" which accomplished very little except excessive Regulation and having slowed growth and stifled prosperity like slow ooze through a sewer pipe.

The low popularity of a President who seems to care even less now, and gives a feeling that HE was let down by the electorate when the reality of our situation suggests just the opposite; FAILED IDEOLOGY let the Citizens of the USA down. The economy grew pitifully slowly, but did grow IN SPITE OF the government. I took a lot of crap a few months ago when I pointed out the insufferable LIES that permeate this administration and this President. "Paranoia" was one response, not a terribly clever response nor one that took into account reality and example after example, almost daily, NEW LIES. I suggested "To think for yourself" after hearing certain accounts and reading white papers from the far left members of what makes up most of the "hidden" regulators like a certain Dr. Gruber, whom the Administration had in front of the cameras very often just a year or two ago. (You won't see that again).
Almost EVERY Agency of this Government under this Administration is under a cloud and with good reason. LIES from the IRS, NSA, VA, et cetera; and perhaps the latest PROOF of the LIES used to further
Ideologically DOOMED Archetype, is shown by the President's Architect of the so called "Affordable Care Act", which even the NAME is a lie.

I cannot access You-Tube; but anyone who can, you may wish to place the Video of this Dr. Gruber, who tells a panel and crowd that (I'll reword it to be quick); "Lack of Transparency in government is a good thing for those who lied to pass the ACA". He also calls the American public stupid voters; I would argue that if we were told the TRUTH that he helped withhold, we very often do make the best choices. But Gruber PREFERS lying to you and me, so he can get his Ideological Failure into law; what he said, and HOW he said it, the entire speaking engagement, not just an excerpt, is likely to not impress the Supreme Court when the next round of ACA related material is considered by the SCOTUS.

People of ALL types and philosophies see the country has been in a downward spiral, a decline like I have never seen in the USA, and they voted on what they see and what they do not like. I believe it was
inevitable; citizens of this country are patient, some are oblivious, but over 60-70% of the country had enough of this tripe.

People of every type, age, race and Political Party either voted out those who enabled this Idealogue to get his way; they looked at the USA, how weak we appear to the World, and how much LESS was in their wallets and banking accounts. No politician needed to tell me how I should vote. It seemed very obvious to me and to the American People that the Pendulum had long been too far to the left for the good of the country, and for the good of Individual Thought that makes America perform at its best, NOT some "beehive" filled with drones who do as they are told by others who clearly do not know what they are doing.

I realize the Thread is entitled "senate race", but of course much more was going on Election Day. The House also picked up more Republican members, and there are now 31 Republican Governors, 1 Independent, and 18 Democratic.

There are a number of reasons why; and if those elected do not perform to the people's expectations, then THEY will be tossed out.

By the way, I am still waiting for this Administration's "Transparency in Government". Sad. Look up Gruber on YouTube, and you will see that "the most Transparent Government in History" was another lie. Sounded good, but it was never going to happen; that should be painfully obvious by now.

I dunno Semi, I don't see very much left wing (or even vaguely so) policies or politician or even parties in even sniffing distance of power these days, either in your country or mine. I do note however the sickening and seemingly unstoppable rise of the vast 'neo-liberal' agenda, spearheaded (at least) by quite a few of those appallingly cruel old bastards in the previous Bush administration and beyond, bloodthirsty maniacs, high on power and blood money.

THIS MUST BE AN ATTEMPT AT HUMOR, OR YOU ARE SIMPLY NOT SEEING THE OBVIOUS; THE USA HAS BEEN IN SUCH A MESS BECAUSE OF THE LEFTIST CROWD SURROUNDING AND INCLUDING THE PRESIDENT; I make no pretense to know much of the important details of the UK government; but I pay very strict attention to what goes on in the USA; your comment above, unless it IS a failed attempt at humor, is one of the most ridiculous comments I have ever seen you write. There is clearly a different point of looking at governments, nomenclature and the very tired and long overused trotting out of "Bush" whenever a more thought provoking and relevant argument or point of view is beyond reach.

There is no doubt at least a "differing" practicing point of view on terminology existing which best describes "liberal", or "progressive" between the USA and UK/ Europe in general.
The tiresome and failed leftist policies as practiced by this President and his party IS THE REASON FOR THE GREATEST LOSS since 1928/29. I watch UK programming, like the PM's weekly joust with the House of Commons; but that, and a few news programs are hardly sufficient for me to give an educated opinion on UK politics. It takes hours a day to review "white papers" and read actual legislation to form what I consider an informed opinion; my stay in Hospital gave me even MORE time to delve into details and who did what, who suggested what and when they did; but the foolish comment that the leftists in power are nearly extinct is absurd; and what you follow that with is also ridiculous unless you wish to rewrite nomenclature, meaning and History. Ergo, I believe you jest.

Re: senate race & WHAT HELP EXPLAINS THE RESULTS

Post by semisynthetic »

There must be a very different way of looking at what level of control by the government is acceptable in a Country ran by Monarchy and "those of noble blood"; in the 18th Century the people here, in what is now the USA made clear with Philosophies and Blood that THIS country would be one of Laws and not of men; now, as late as today, we see a misguided POTUS who is deaf to the worst loss since movies went from silent to sound, and arrogantly wishes to try and devolve with the use of essentially "decrees", to try and make happen what should, by the Constitution, go through the Congress.

BzaInSpace jokes(?) about the existence of liberals in power; lets's look at today. A Senator named Elizabeth Warren, who agrees she is far left, and uses that; today she was placed as a high level Senate Chairwoman; this is a person who not only does not wish to work w/ the opposing party, she admits to not really wanting to work with her OWN party! That seems a bit extreme to me, and is part of what made the Citizens of the USA say "enough"; and unlike Presidents before him, this one seems oblivious THIS TIME. You may remember how the POTUS referred to "a shellacking" when the Democrats lost seats LAST TIME. Yet after this election, he gave a semicoherent 87 minute rambling Presser, where he was lost to explain why his party did so badly; no mention of a "shellacking" THIS time; why? Why avoid the truth? Is this Historical Loss just too much to accept? Is Putin, Ukraine, Crimea, the debacle in Iraq, Syria, Turkey and the rest of the Real World simply too much? Maybe.

Again, Gruber, the architect who was very pleased to lie about the Affordable Care Act to get it passed by any means necessary, no matter how "UnAmerican" the tactics; even calling people "stupid" who agreed! He also, to be fair, called the citizenry of the USA stupid. Yet, the townhalls and demonstrations AGAINST the bill were RIGHT; we were collectively lied to. More videos of this person have been found, and his "mispeaking" was shown to be in fact, the script. I suppose truth means little to Idealogues of any stripe.

Meanwhile, Nancy Pelosi says she NEVER HEARD of GRUBER! Yet several speeches and videos, and even her Congressional Webpage talks about the brilliance of a liar's liar. She led many Panels USING Gruber's name and work.

Last year, while talking to the People, the POTUS explained why he could NOT just take unilateral action on the immigration business, yet it looks like he may do exactly that. After reading the outline of this nonsense, it still leaves illegal aliens in limbo and causes LAW ENFORCEMENT to no longer be a nation of laws; this is just the sort of chaos that led to the Election that repudiated such action.

The USA has been a country of Laws too long to return to an antiquated era of a King George. A Monarchy is fine for other Nations; it may be so entrenched in a Nation's History, that it may even make sense; but the age of one person in absolute power is over. For the POTUS to seem to wish to revert to the 6th Century of Divine Right shows a level of narcissism and delusion that surprises me greatly; but so have many other decisions that seem antithetical to America, and what the USA has meant, and what it will likely return to in a couple of years.

We must live in two different countries.
What the far right represent is so much scarier even the moderate right cant figure out how to distance themselves from them.
Westboro Baptist Church, Tea Party. You can have them.

You can always sink your teeth into this what a random Canadian sent to a US newspaper:
"The dollar is at its strongest levels in years, the stock market is near record highs, gasoline prices are falling, there’s no inflation, interest rates are the lowest in 30 years, U.S. oil imports are declining, U.S. oil production is rapidly increasing, the deficit is rapidly declining, and the wealthy are still making astonishing amounts of money.

"So, Americans vote for the party that got you into the mess that Obama just dug you out of? This defies reason. When you are done with Obama, could you send him our way?"

I should take the advice of everyone I know and never get into political or religious debates. Or both.

Of course it is easiest to avoid a political discussion; I entered into this one because I read things that even spzretent needed "translated", and that I disagreed with.

I do not count myself in the extremists you listed; I simply believe that less technocrats and government is better than too much government. Some people seem to never get enough government; as if they cannot think or function on their own.

So, I made a short list of some crazy stuff that happened just today; and I read no argument or indication that what I had written was incorrect; I used facts and sometimes paraphrased what was said; I didn't like it either.

Politics is a filthy business; but it is better to know more of what has happened behind our backs than to remain ignorant and be unable to push back against some things that are hurtful to our country and to the people.

I did not link you but if you bring up the far right you have to acknowledge there is far left whom, in my opinion, are way scarier that anything the far left has to offer.

I do think the fundemental idealogical differences between the right and left exist and always will. The Obama administration has really seemed to bring out the worst of the right. I am not accusing you of this but I am convinced the new far right sprang into action after we elected a black president. Or at least became much louder.
In fact I think much of it is veiled racism which I find sad in this day and age. Just as sad as the fact two people who love each other cant be married and share the same rights as anyone else regardless of whom they choose as a partner. No idea why people get so worked up over this. Who cares? Doesn't this country have far bigger issues?
Just my opinion of course.

A battle of newspaper articles seems to me to be inadequate; if the premise is that the POTUS has done a fantastic job, and made the economy a great accomplishment, then I would have to disagree on facts, and include my opinion. Generally, the USA does have a strong economy compared with the rest of the world; but we should be farther along then we are. Speaking of the stock market, it began to rise even higher when the likely outcome of the election was factored in. I read the spectrum of political writings; from the crazy right to the crazy left and everything inbetween; but mostly I rely on documents and white papers from BOTH sides of the aisle; it helps me better understand what each side is after; I do NOT rely on newspapers or programs that clearly have a bias or have a bias that is built up by "feelings" instead of facts; I shared my opinions, but I included facts as they flowed across the pages - I did not need to search for a foreign newspaper from a media that is known to be more on the liberal side; I wanted the POTUS to succeed at his job; I just disagree that he has done it so well. Obviously I am not alone; since so many people ousted those who followed the President's philosophy, or stayed home because they could not support it.

The people who so enthusiastically supported this President, are not so inclined to do so; college grads cannot find jobs, and only very recently has the aenemic economy started to pick up; historically low values for six years; government agencies like the EPA have gone overboard in ways that would be funny if not so hurtful; and bureaucrats right more rules than can be absorbed; Dodd-Frank has tied the banking system up in knots, and that mess is barely started; more people are on the dole than would like to be, but it is true that the richest continue to get richer; the same horrible rich that the President vilified between campaign $ stops that he visited with them; same on both sides.

Just how much SHOULD the government take from us? Or should only the "rich" pay to care for everyone else? How much government do you really need? Personally, I think we have way more than we can afford to keep, at $18,000,000,000,000.00 in the hole and $100 Trillion in unfunded entitlements.

I don't believe discontent was brought about by the President being mixed race; I think it was more pocketbook and Chaos in the land. He did win twice; that doesn't seem so racist; if he had known more, not "led from behind" and lived in a world of Political Correctness to such a bizarre degree, if he had more experience, or the sense to listen to those who did, a number of big messes would be smaller, and we would ALL be better off. It just looked more and more like amateur hour. And WHAT Transparency? It is laughably pathetic and hurtful to the nation. If he had known what he was doing, he could be plaid and no one would care. I don't buy this racist way out. I wanted him to do well; he had a wonderful opportunity and he blew it.

Transparency? Bring back Bush & Cheney. Thanks to Jeb he was able to steal at least one election. Maybe two. This country was screwed by them. Cheney loaded his bank account by forcing a war when all their intelligence(or lack there of) was wrong.
Bush? Some legacy for a two term president If you ever traveled internationally especially during his second term you know what kind of abuse you had to put up with. I couldn't even go out for drinks with my friends in the UK without having to endure all sorts of crap at the local pub just because I had an American accent. I didn't vote for him. Twice. No matter. I was American and a target.
Name a transparent politician. Especially a right wing one. Sorry but the right wing politicians seem to have way more skeletons in their closets.

Why don't we just ponder who is there now? This "trotting out Bush" whenever this current POTUS is in the soup is boring and unworthy of intelligent conversation; and just to remind, every Intelligence Agency of NATO, and many others; and almost every Democrat, including Hillary Clinton, John Kerry, Harry Reid and really the bulk of the crowd made wonderful speeches agreeing with the findings; it was proposed but not carried much in the media that the Chemical Weapons Sadam Hussein used on the populus was likely moved to Syria; but surely the capability existed, since the Marsh Arabs and Kurds were killed by the thousands with a variety of WMDs;
or did we forget?

How much were you promised by the current POTUS? I know that one of the first "nice sounding" promises was to have the most Transparent Administrations in US History, right? Do you believe that is indeed what has been delivered?

Herr Gruber, who you must have heard of and from by now, why, he even apologized on MSNBC for "misspeaking" when he told a crowd that the LACK of Transparency was essential to passing a bill that we poor rubes were too stupid to understand and appreciate, so the Administration opted to lie and lie and lie.
Later, his "misspeaking" was found to be the script he ALWAYS used when sharing the Progressive Way of avoiding the Truth.

Lois Lerner of the IRS should make any American proud; if someone disagrees with you, crush them and waste their time with an Agency of the US Government. She looks rough enough for a Nixon revival; her
ideology is inline with Power over Truth.

Clapper, (clap on, clap off), was a wonderful witness when he so clumsily lied before the Democratic Senator he had shared the answers with in advance. You can see the puzzlement on the Senator's face, of "why did he just lie like that?"; it is only our Privacy and at least our 4th Amendment rights that were mashed.

We all know that most Politicians are lying bastards who will say anything to get and keep power; I am just terribly disappointed that this President had a chance to be different and make a difference; on paper his actions are often to the right of Reagan when they are not left of Marx.

This country is in Decline; and so many people believed that, the Election was a clear repudiation of the policies that the politicians who enabled this POTUS to carry out.

Why wail on and on about past politicians? Why not share with us all of the wonderful, honest and believable
accomplishments of the current POTUS in question? The one who has done such a great job that his base abandoned him, and his party was trounced? If the SCOTUS takes a dim view of certain truths now in the light of day about upcoming ACA litigation, a type which could ultimately allow this Rube Goldberg Healthcare Apparatus to lose a mainspring, just what has he done?

Does the world REALLY respect the USA more than they did? Then why do Russia and China both challenge the US AirForce with increasing regularity? Why are we now the butt of jokes that were not so "open" in the last Administration?

I read about blood thirsty old Bush era guys; but I don't remember any of them bragging about a "kill list" on their desk. Maybe they were bloodthirsty, but at least they were more professional about it.

As for "skeletons" in the closet; frankly I am PROUD that such lovable people like the Weather Underground Terrorists among a CROWD of people I am pleased to not know belong in THIS POTUS closet. Blowing up Americans at home to show dislike of a war abroad seems much too psychopathic for my liking; but hey, according to Herr Gruber, the "self thought genius" who is now a self made ass would just negate my rube opinion; after all, I am stupid enough to be honest. Maybe because my self respect and my upbringing demands more than a lackey for another "Opaque" Fake, Dishonest Politician.

Now that has to be the most ridiculous thing I have read on here for a long time.

Way to go Semi: someone posts a sensitive, non-discriminatory, hopeful (and refreshingly concise) message regarding the Republican bigots that sadly represents where he lives, but that's been buried under an avalanche of anti-Obama rhetoric.

Have you ever been on reddit.com? There's a hilarious meme that does the rounds, essentially whatever befalls a certain individual, the blame/answer is always "Cheers, Obama!", or words to that effect.

This seems quite appropriate for how this thread is panning out.

I think it is very fair to trot out Bush and Co. as a direct contrast. That could have been the worst 8 years of a president I can ever recall.
I am none to happy with the job Obama has done but it isn't like he had any help. Since day one the republicans have been gunning for him. Why are the republicans so afraid of people who dont need religion as a compass to steer their lives. Many of them dont accept free thinking people who dont always adhere to their way of living or thinking?
Here is just one of these absolute morons.

FOR BzaInSpace;

Hello! I don't use any other SITE than this one; I like & have enjoyed this SITE for the Music and the occasional tangential topic, such as this. In retrospect, what I wrote was much too harsh; but I really did believe you WERE joking, or as I phrased it "attempted humor"; there is such a broad spectrum of "liberal to conservative", but I thought you were kidding! The policies of this President, the details of how he grew up and "sought out" other leftists as he outlines in his own book helped make me take what you wrote as tongue in cheek! Truly I did believe that!
Later, I shared what I was tossing around in my mind about just WHAT may constitute "liberal" to YOU; it is not unusual, given this President's background and voting record for him to be considered the most liberal POTUS since W. Wilson; so when I read your post, I really DID think you were kidding! I know you to joke and be light hearted in many of your Posts; if you are indeed NOT "attempting humor", then I was simply too mean, too OTT with my response; but you do have an interesting sense of humor, I obviously erred in "reading" what you meant; I would not have been so "callous" if I did NOT believe you were exercising that wit!

My admittedly cold-hearted quote that you isolated was referencing the lack of ability of this Administration to NOT share FAR TOO MANY METHODS AND DETAILS that are generally not mentioned for security reasons; but this President often shares too many details, especially when it is to his political advantage; I simply saw this lapse in security of methods and capabilities as flawed in my opinion; the only reason TO SHARE such a list w/ those who may be on it would be for PsyOps, which I did think was possible, but there were so many other examples of "leaks" that I had my doubts.

i find it odd that many of the policies that passed the vote were left wing- minimum wage, leagalisation of mj, yet the democrats in those states lost their seats. so what, you want liberal laws but not liberals to inforce them? this happens every midterm. the electorate forgets how things were before and vote agains the goverment just because they can. those of us who follow it closely see the nauance of what has happened in relative terms but who really cares that deeply about politics? if they had to sing to win then people would care more...and there would be an italian leading the UN! 8)

'Dostoevsky's dead,' said the citizeness, but somehow not very confidently.

there are republican senators on record (bachman et al) saying their one policy was to deny mr obama a second term. there was even a tv show about terrorism that had the bin laden character to be an almost identical double of mr obama (he mocked it at the corrospondents dinner). the impression that i get is that people want people who agree with them to lead the country (understandable), and anyone who disagrees is just wrong. america always seems so young to me. the world has had domestic conflicts that have lasted longer than america was as it is now. the fact that there is so much uproar over the president saying 'people love each other, so what', an attempt to drag the country into the 5th century, BC just baffles, and the opposistion to all being able to live (healthcare) is just sick whichever way you look at it. just make aaron sorkin incharge!

that is the same in most of the world- with the exceptions being scandinavia and switzland. in the last local elections mrs merkle's christian democrats got battered in the elections- depiste germany being one of the first out of recession and holding up most of europe on its tax payers. mr obama inhereted a recession and wars from the clinton (boom and bust) and bush (boom exploding bombs) administrations. the fact he has shown any real growth is a marvelous achievement. france, greece, portugal would kill for such growth.

who would you like in 2016? mrs clinton or jed bush?

I agree with you on this one; I have no animosity or ill will towards "gays in the Military"; I know a Colonel who has served his country with honor and is one of those very quiet heroic people that I admire; I also understand that others may not be open minded enough to accept this Colonel for a variety of their own reasons or opinions, I simply do not share them. Likewise, I do not understand why allowances for two people regardless of gender who love one another to marry or at the very least have the same rights as those in more traditional marriages. Anyone who really knows me knows that whatever your color or lifestyle or WHATEVER is fine, and I do not tolerate rascism or any other "judgement" against anyone; I have always seen people as who they are and how they act and liked them for who they were - but this does not mean that I have to agree with their Philosophies. Everyone has a right to their opinion and their beliefs, and I too have that right.

There is too much intolerance based ONLY on how someone looks; I have been lucky to know a great variety of people, and have long friendships based on a person's inherent goodness, and NOT on how they vote or whom they love. I grew up this way, my grandparents were a very good influence on me, and I miss them everyday.

There is one point Alan that I disagree with you on "what help" the POTUS has had; the media have been lax in their jobs; they have only recently and sparingly asked of this President and expected answers to questions that President Bush never enjoyed; I do believe there is a great bias in the media, and when one sees the "education" that so called journalists receive now, it is a weak, watered down inquiry of what was once expected of the media. If the fellow "Gruber" was saying what he has been for President Bush, it would be replayed in a loop on every network, so I believe the current President has had a relatively easy ride there; additionally, the President did enjoy 2 years of BOTH houses of Congress, but lost the House because of policies that enough people disagreed with that he lost that advantage on his own. The most recent election again showed that MORE than a simple majority are not in agreement with this President; I personally think race has much less to do with the losses than Policies did; he is simply too far left for too many people to accept what he espouses. He came into office with a powerful wind at his back, but it was he who lost that momentum and advantage; his rather stand-offish approach to even the members of his own party; it has been puzzling to watch how poorly this President plays with the other children; he seems to not care to learn from his mistakes, and for most of his Presidency, the media has ignored too much too often for the good of the people and our Country.

We all know that most Politicians are lying bastards who will say anything to get and keep power; I am just terribly disappointed that this President had a chance to be different and make a difference
why did he have more of a chance to be different if he is another politician? because he is from poor minority roots? do you not feel that it is the weight of expectation that was put on him by 'joe-sixpack' that has coloured his administration?
This country is in Decline; and so many people believed that, the Election was a clear repudiation of the policies that the politicians who enabled this POTUS to carry out.
bring back gender inequality, slavery and the almost great depression! wooo!
Why wail on and on about past politicians?
because you cannot view anyhting as complex as politics in isolation

Does the world REALLY respect the USA more than they did? Then why do Russia and China both challenge the US AirForce with increasing regularity? Why are we now the butt of jokes that were not so "open" in the last Administration?
yes, us santctions on russia re: georgia have really hit the country hard and russia are trying to pull out of the next nuclear proerliftion summit in retaliation as they fear that they us can cripple large parts of the country economically, and china are appeasing the us more and more with titenium square, burma and tibet for the ssame reason for china is still very young in its growth and may be unsustainable so needs the help of developed nations to build sustainable roots. and the airforce stuff? that's just posturing and cannot be taken seriously. it is the politics where the real 'power' is

Maybe because my self respect and my upbringing demands more than a lackey for another "Opaque" Fake, Dishonest Politician.
i think you may have a little crush on mr gruber. you are bringing him up alomost as much as i bring up dylan! (hey baz   )

I am pleased that Gruber has told a truth that so many people believed to be true, but had no way of proving it - but he is the smoking gun. His being so full of himself and delighted with his ability to lie, cheat and steal for a law that most people did not want is welcomed to show that all of those people who KNEW all of these promises were simply too good to be true IS TRUE; his arrogance has been his undoing.

(But, no, Gruber is not what I would call "my type").

Enough.

The Election is over, and even most of you who voted for the current POTUS don't seem to be that thrilled with how he has worked out.

The People spoke out clearly, removed Harry Reid and gave the Majority in the Senate, improved the Majority in the House, along with 31 Governorships to the Republicans.

I am satisfied with these results, but now the onus is on those who were elected to get the Senate back to actually doing something, Reid had it on "pause" far too long to allow the government to function well.

Now we will see if the POTUS will adhere to what he believed was the Constitutionally correct method for dealing with immigration, something he could have done in the 1st two years as he had "promised", or if he in what insiders describe as a "enraged" mindset, attempts to do so ExtraConstitutionally to vent his anger at losing in a Historical way; an act that will only tie up the Congress unnecessarily; but from what I received today, it appears he will want to take his ball home and not play; causing crisis when he could work as an ACTUAL leader instead of in name only.

I have made my opinions clear, I've also erred in what I thought others meant; since I enjoy this SITE primarily for the Musical side, I will wade out of the stench of Politics and back into enjoying a number of boxes just delivered; I cannot yet open them, as I can barely move; but I can read the invoices for now on those so fitted; as important as keeping up with what goes on is, it need not take up excess time and energy HERE.
