David Lynch shooting new Twin Peaks ... stuff???

It says he's just shooting a promo, which is probably for the forthcoming Blu-Ray collection, but it's exciting to imagine that he's going to actually do something new with it.

I'd love for them to try and complete the original series... always annoyed me the way it was just left in the end.

So this is really happening!!!! I'm super psyched. I understand why some people might be skeptical, but c'mon ... it's Mark Frost and David Lynch. It's going to be amazing. I can't wait.

wha?
that's me being optimistic!

i know exactly what'll happen - i'll love it & everyone else will hate it. so it goes.
my demeanour last night stemmed from the fact i was watching the strain while i made that post, which hopefully explains my attitude a little further. have you see it? one of the true so bad it's bad but still funny shows, preposterous in just about everything it does. don't take that a recommendation tho, unless you've a sense of humour & a lot of patience..

Kinda spine tingling when you realise that Laura Palmer said "see you in 25 years" to Agent Cooper in the Black Lodge.

And here we are...

Yeah, reaaly stoked about this. I had seen the twitter thing last week and thought that it was possible, but maybe just another reissue of the original series, but yesterday's video really confirms it. It has every opportunity to work. Doesn't really need the original cast except for a few cameo appearances so its not like they have to drag every character back. Kyle Maclachlan could easy reappear under "Bobs" influence even after all this time. I hope and pray Lynch gives it the justice it so deserves.

A few of the actors in the original have passed away (Jack Nance as Pete Martel & Frank Silva as Bob, to name two), but I think they'll have enough on board to satisfy fans. Kyle Maclachlan is already confirmed. I can't imagine that the actresses who played Laura Palmer, Audrey and Donna (Lara Flynn Boyle) have anything more important going on. There's a decent article about unanswered questions that need to be addressed in the new series here:

JW, I have not seen The Strain. Probably won't bother. I'm waiting for Walking Dead to start up again.

I'm pretty amped. I live in the "fictional" town that Lynch based the series on. Drive past the diner every day and have a nice view of the "twin peaks" (actually Mt. Si and Mt. Teneriffe).

So basically what you're saying is that you live in Twin Peaks?

That explains... a lot.

Forget about it, just announced that he dropped out of the project. Probably not worth watching if he's not involved.

Maybe Showtime made that money from the Mayweather vs. Pacquiao pay-per-view revenue?

Drove past the "Twin Peaks" diner today and all the windows were covered and there were work crews busy renovating the interior of the place for some imminent filming of the new series. Lynch was also reportedly in town in July.
