PETESPACEMANBASSMAN's blog -THE THEFT OF THE SPACEMEN 3 LOGO

It's fairly unlikely you'd have made it here without ever having heard of Jason's previous incarnation. So here you go, talk away...

I thought there would be no more space age stuff for a while, but behold

New packaging too.
Do we all need an 8th version? Not sure

The bloke from the Enid was bankrupted by his legal fight. Any injunction would cost loads and would be subject to challenge. Establishing legal ownership over the back catalogue, logos and image rights would seem to be the est way to go, but I doubt that will be cheap or straightforward.

Maybe we could crowd fund something to support the band in any attempts at regaining control of their music? Perhaps they'd be uncomfortable to accept that kind of support, though. Boycotting the new releases evidently isn't working if the shops are still stocking the records. High street record shops are mostly dead, yet my hmv has more spacemen 3 records than it ever had in its lifetime.

I think it's pretty awful this guy has stolen the band's work from them and probably denied them their rightfully earned money.

Was in a record shop earlier today and very surprisingly saw physical copies of Spectrum's 'Live Chronicles' in the racks.

Also got an automated email from amazon trying to flog me Spacemen 3 t shirts. I'd love one but I don't want money to go to these villains.

Looks like they're certainly trying to get their money's worth from all this.

I'm guessing Sonic gets nothing from this outfit of reissuers/bootleggers either.

A 1972 (label) reissue of Forever Alien . release date 2016 according to Discogs.

I have Forever Alien on my Xmas wish list/Discogs want list so am hoping , if I'm lucky enough to get a copy , I don't get one of these.
According to the reviews I've read , all this labels output is well below par
