VELVET UNDERGROUND 50TH ANNIVERSARY Yo La Tengo/Dean &Britta

Post by purespace »

Seriously looking at flying in for this:

THURSDAY • DECEMBER 15 • 6:30 PM

Celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Velvet Underground’s Philadelphia debut!

Enjoy performances by the legendary Yo La Tengo, who portrayed the Velvet Underground in the film I Shot Andy Warhol, and whose uninterrupted 32-year career is unparalleled in its creative breadth. Their set will pay homage to the concert that took place on the same stage nearly 50 years prior to the day. And experience 13 Most Beautiful...Songs for Andy Warhol’s Screen Tests, which features a selection of Warhol’s four-minute silent film portraits with commissioned soundtracks performed by Dean Wareham & Britta Phillips, formerly of Luna and Galaxie 500.

TICKETS
General Admission (Standing): $40
General Admission (Balcony Seating): $60
General Admission (Balcony Seating) and Private After-Party with Yo La Tengo and Dean & Britta: $125
I think I feel it coming on

pretty cool, not far from here (80 minutes drive) but sadly, a bit outside the budget.

I went to see the show. It was a great experience. Yo la tengo played mostly the Nico album. Dean & Britta performed their Andy Warhol screening projects 13 songs. Great choices for 50th yr VU anniversary
