Tufty… thank you again and Veiko for this: it needs to be out there as an official bootleg:

Thanks Ian
I still get goosebumps listening to it. It was a Spiritualized show like no other. Magical and mental.BzaInSpace wrote: ↑Sun Oct 03, 2021 10:31 pm

It's a fantastic recording Veiko and better than mine. Mixing them together though (in my view) brings more depth and clarity to the overall sound.
Recording a listenable show from the stalls that night deserves a medal!

Having listened to Ian and Mark’s Spacemen Pod the other night (cheers fellas) with the focus on ‘Walking With Jesus’, this take on this recording is pure spine-tingling goodness.
I love how at a minute in after the first appearance of the backing singers a woman clearly goes “WOW”
Wow indeed. This version became the “line dancing” version Mark spoke about. Was that the Brudenell? They’d been slowing it down for a while. I prefer to call it a “country shuffle”

I think the tour where I saw them play it in line dancing style - sorry but that was what I thought of at the time so I'll stick to it! - was in 2008. Saw them at Leeds University Refectory on October 10th. I remember BVCP206 and myself in fits of delight after they played it like that. Just brilliant.BzaInSpace wrote: ↑Sat Oct 09, 2021 9:44 pm Wow indeed. This version became the “line dancing” version Mark spoke about. Was that the Brudenell? I love on Ladies and Gents you can not only hear the backup singers, but also the audience singing along. It must have been a pure trip to be in attendance.
Re: 2006-11-25 - J Spaceman, Acoustic Mainlines Matrix, Queens Hall, Edinburgh
This was an odd show. There were a few shows before this and i recall them being pin-drop quiet as the audience just soaked it all up, and then i went to this show and it was rowdy, noisy and loud. i think i had a bit of a moan about it after the show, as i was expecting total reverence from the audience to let the music speak for itself.
Listening back, i can totally appreciate it now. They joy and respect towards Jason at this show is unbelieveable. A different way of showing respect, a need to be vocal about the music, with an energy that just lifts the whole event to another level. Even the welcome they received as they come on stage lifts the roof off. Its no wonder Jason said this was one of his favourite shows of the tour
I love this recording. It was a great show that night, and i now get to do it all over again!
