That was my original reaction but then i remembered that Mercury Rev have been fairly boring for a long while. I'd still go though

I totally agree. I always preferred the madness of the earlier days with David Baker.

Mercury Rev was a no show in Detroit last night. I understand they had some "non-COVID" related issues last week trying to get into Canada. They were to rejoin the tour in Detroit but no dice. Pretty disappointed but do hope it's nothing serious.

Just got an email from the Vancouver promoter that "due to unforeseen circumstances" Mercury Rev are no longer playing the Vancouver show.

Lame. Main reason I was going.

Same for us, pretty gutted when we realized there was no Mercury Rev. Neither the venue nor BJM acknowledged it either. Strange the Rev would post it was non-COVID issues at the Canadian border then state COIVD issues for several US shows after BJM returned from Canada. What is up?

Anton posted a little about it on his Twitter. Low, Superchunk, and a couple other bands touring right now have had to cancel shows because of COVID - they're all trying to be safe and there's just audience after audience of folks not wearing masks.

I have 2 tickets for the show in Santa Ana, CA. I'm happy to gift them. We are seeing them 2 days earlier and cannot make the Sunday show.

Did everyone read that BJM's gear was stolen in Portland? That's happened before sadly.

My fiance went to the San Diego show and said it was really bad. Anton seemed to be on drugs again and said some pretty inappropriate things. Then he apparently was telling people to cancel him.

I feel like every time they tour their gear gets stolen at some point. That happened the day before I saw them in 2008/9 too.
