South American Bands

Post by spzretent »

I was just sent a CD by a band from Argentina named Hurricane Heart Attacks. I am on the third listen today. Its really, really good. Very BJM-ish. I guess South America is where its at. Follakzoid are also from South America and are pretty great. Not to mention Psychedelic Shafferson Jetplane.

Also, The Pontiacs. I love that album. Has anybody heard their most recent and if so, is it as good?

Spzretent, I'm intrigued by the sound of the Hurricane Heart Attacks album.

Have a listen and name your price here: http://pontiacs.bandcamp.com/

Loads of great psych in South America, check out La Hell Gang and Serpentina Satellite also.

Should we merge this thread with the already existing Mississippi Space Program one, or perhaps set up a separate thread for South American bands? Or just leave as is? I'll leave it up to those with the power

That does make sense - loads going on in this part of the world. The other thread is pretty interesting too.

One is about a specific release. The one I started is about a region putting out some great music. I think they are equally deserving of having their own thread.

Not South America exactly, but Lorelle Meets the Obsolete from Mexico (Guad) are well worth a mention too:

I was going to mention Lorelle Meets The Obsolete, especially as they have a new record coming out. There first on Sonic Cathedral nonetheless:-
