Revolution 2023

It's fairly unlikely you'd have made it here without ever having heard of Jason's previous incarnation. So here you go, talk away...

"first two runs of limited edition lathe cut clear vinyl, 23 copies per run."

Much like the other couple of lathe cut releases released over the last few years - these are more of a (very) private pressing for a tiny group of friends with possibly a handful being sold to the public (at best)

Best viewed more like one-off pressings than a 'proper' release - mostly because 99.9% of us don't stand a chance of ever getting a copy due to their scarcity.

I agree they look cool, but they are barely accessible to anyone - which makes them more of a gimmick than anything else.

Anyone can make one of these pressings. Get the tune you want to press - upload audio to vinyl cutting service - wait a couple of weeks for records to arrive. 23 copies? I'm guessing they're around 15 to 20 euros to produce. But now you'll have to fork out the princely sum of 150 euros for a copy. So I guess they're also a good way to make some quick cash. I don't see much difference between these and those old Camden Town bootlegs with their bright orange photocopied sleeves. Anyone can make them. The messy part is when they appear on Discogs - So, '1 or 2' copies were sold there - okay, but what about the other 20 that were sold to mates of the person who pressed them up? It really (really) stretches the concept of 'publicly available' if you ask me.

Surely there must or should be some legal paperwork to fill in???

Not at all.

I have three or four lathe cut pressings... at no point did they ask any questions.

Most importantly, it's shite. As a track it's quite poorly put together imo.
I write what I write and I wait for reality to align with it.
