Picked up original vinyl copies of 'For All The Fucked up Children...' on SFTRI and Recurring on Fire for €20 on Ebay
The latter isn't in great nick but i'm not bothered as i have multiple originals already. It was the former that grabbed my attention. Both records were pictured together but only Recurring was advertised for sale. I messaged the seller and he said "yes, everything in the pic was for sale" so i immediately placed my order. Couldn't go wrong at a tenner each!
I'd class Fucked up Children as VG or VG+ for the sleeve and VG+ or EX- for the vinyl. A good clean would sort it out i reckon.
I can only assume the reason i never bought one of the SFTRI copies on release was because i already had the Quiver At Dawn CD, and for some reason decided i didn't need the record even though i saw them in the shops. The folly of youth

Godspeed YBE - Allelejah, Ascend Don't Bend LP + 7"
Comets On Fire - Avatar LP
Bardo Pond - Bufo Alvarius LP (RSD 2022)
Night Beats - Levitation Sessions
Carlton Melton - Out To Sea (RSD 2022)
Most favourite recent purchase was picking up the last colour variant of a Slipstream 7". This completed the full set of LPs, 12"s and 7s for me, with every colour variation too. Been searching for it for ages, and had started to think it didn't even exist until one turned up unexpectedly on Discogs.

Re: Last five albums/lp's you bought?
I went to The Brudenell a few weeks ago to see Flat Worms and support as I was in Leeds and had dropped off 16yr and her friends who were off to their first gig at The Apollo. Just remember thinking...fuck me, this is loud
Re: Last five albums/lp's you bought?
There is a vinyl version of this available? I don't see it listed on Discogs.
Re: Last five albums/lp's you bought?
It is a pre-order. Supposedly, it ships out around 15th August. I'm not that impressed by the FLACs of the LP to say the very least. It is a big change of direction.
Re: Last five albums/lp's you bought?
Recent purchases/pre-orders...
White Hills - Revenge of the Heads On Fire (reissue (remix?) of their Heads On Fire LP)
Sonic Boom & Panda Bear - Reset (really excited for this one)
The Telescopes - Taste (30th anniversary edition) (Bargain @ £15 from Fuzzclub in their sale)
Night Beats - Live At Valentine (RSD 2022 release - love this band!)
Also picked up a couple of AC Acoustics 7s which will make up a framed gift for my brother, who is a big fan.
And still waiting for my reissue of Flowers Of Hell s/t debut to arrive too. Can't wait to hear that properly on headphones

UPDATE:
Flowers of Hell LP arrived. Wonderful, WONDERFUL record and package.
Telescopes LP is incredibly put together. Booklet containing gig flyers, reviews and photos from that era, solid sleeve and good heavy vinyl.
Also picked up a copy of Serpentina Satelite's Mecanica Celeste for 15 quid! An absolute steal.

Re: Last five albums/lp's you bought?
All nine Radiohead albums and the two The Smile albums. I had Pablo Honey a long time ago because of Creep. Now I'm digesting the rest of their catalogue. They have the same number of studio albums as Spiritualized and they started about the same time. Spiritualized beat them out for NME record of the year in 1997. OK Computer is very solid though. I think I like their first three albums better than the rest, but maybe the later albums are more abstract and take longer to appreciate.
Re: Last five albums/lp's you bought?
Kid A is one of my favorites. We used to play it while hot tubbing on the back deck with some red wine in the winter as the snow fell in big flakes. Dreamy memories of that soundtracknghst wrote: Mon May 20, 2024 11:49 pm All nine Radiohead albums and the two The Smile albums. I had Pablo Honey a long time ago because of Creep. To celebrate the 20th anniversary of Sonic Cathedral not only are they releasing a big box set but they did a lucky dip thing where you could buy 5 random back catalogue CDs for 20 quid. I took a punt and happily didn't get anything I already had!
There was a vinyl version too but I think that's sold out.
