New Primal Scream track Love Insurrection, taken from upcoming Come Ahead lp due in November. Reminds me of Curtis Mayfield or Across 110th Street.

that's the most enjoyable Primal Scream track I've heard in many years. I wonder if the album will be in this style

Sunstack Jones - Golden Repair. damn this is a good album, I do like some country rock but it can lean towards blandness sometimes. this totally avoids that with some lively jamming sections and very natural production

greatly suited to the current weather

Cheers for that. Gave it a cursory listen and thought it was pretty good. Will give it a proper go over the next few days hopefully.

You're obviously not getting the heavy rain that keeps inserting itself into any half decent day we have over here. A very poor summer :(

Yeah keep listening, i just find it gets better and better and has a lot of musical substance.
Still fairly sunny here if cloudy at times . The best music is accordly sunny with an undertow of melancholy:)

Just listening to this now - holy shit, it’s awesome. Sounds amazing, no surprise given the line up though. One of the best things I’ve listened to all year.

Cheers!

The new Jack White and new White Hills releases, both of which I’m enjoying a lot and finding are the most engaging releases by either in quite some time 👍

I've been enjoying the songs from the up and coming Nice Biscuit (terrible band name) album that Fuzz Club have been promoting. This short live set popped up whilst listening to the singles. Like the vibe!

The new War On Drugs - Live Drugs Again, absolutely fabulous, about 7 yrs late with this one but LCD Soundtracks comeback album American Dream is really hitting the spot this last week or two and just when I thought I’d gotten out of this particular modern psyche corner it draws me back in, Upupayama new one Mount Elephant is magic in a kinda Kikagaku sort of way 👍

I'm liking the new Album from Juniore. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gKzcMMy_cTw https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lIlk-m5k788

Was meant to go to see them in Birkenhead Library a couple of years back, but after it getting rescheduled 2 or 3 times it was finally cancelled, which was a shame.

Lost him out of sight for some time, but the new Nick Cave album is quiet good! Especially 'Conversion'.
It has this soul uplifting vibe in it that reminds me of the licd version of 'lord can you hear me'.
Great stuff. Makes me in doubt about going to see the band next month. The fact that the venue has a 12000 people capacity on the other hand...

Looks like an album is possibly on the cards for Lael Neale but no mention of when. In the meantime one cant go far wrong with a song title like this >

Alan Sparhawk, eleven out of ten, because everything is upside down and downside is the new levelling method. Waking up and feeling bold.

Terry Gross - Huge Improvement. Loving this album. Just like their previous lp, Soft Opening, this one is an AOTY contender for me and already getting a lot of plays. Four songs in just under 35 minutes, incorporating fuzzed-out riffs, guitar squall and a bit of melody in there too. Puts a grin on my face: https://terrygrossband.bandcamp.com/alb ... mprovement

This last week or so it’s a mixed bag tbh.

Fuzz - Levitation Sessions
Elder - Live At BBC Maida Vale Sessions
JAMC - Stoned And Dethroned ( on the back of their new audiobook I’m enjoying this way more than I ever did at the time)
War On Drugs - More Live Drugs ( sounds fantastic and some great versions of great songs) At £50 this might be the most expensive, straight vinyl release I’ve ever bought…

Well the good reviews on the board have prompted me to get a last minute ticket for Godspeed tonight. I must admit the last couple of albums have left me a bit cold, sounded a bit like Godspeed by numbers. But I am in the mood to strap myself in for an epic show and have my mind changed.

Hope you enjoy it! They really are one of the best live bands around for me, so i'm biased, but the few listens i've had to the new album this week i've really enjoyed so far, Raindrops Cast In Lead especially.

Nala Sinephro's Endlessness has been on repeat a lot the past two weeks. Was going to wait to listen to it until I got it on vinyl but I came down with covid so I haven't been able to go to the local shop to pick it up.

Her debut, Space 1.8, was amazing as well.

Chuck Johnson - Sun Glories

https://chuckjohnson.bandcamp.com/album/sun-glories

pedal steel player, so already up my street (an instrument I have always liked the sound of). His previous works were quite minimalist ambient (he was mentioned in connection to the 'Ambient Americana' scene that seemed to be a thing for about 5 minutes). But this album has widened his palette, a lot more going on and different instrumentation. almost post-rock at times.
Highly recommend giving this a listen.
