Sonic Podcast

It's fairly unlikely you'd have made it here without ever having heard of Jason's previous incarnation. So here you go, talk away...

Pete’s on this podcast:

Interesting four parter. I never really cared for the recollections of the breakup of SP3. Much of the 3rd and 4th episodes are about that.

That was a good listen, not sure I agree with guy’s assertion that Sonics side is way better than Jason’s on Recurring mind, both sides equally good in my opinion, yeah there’s a bit of raking over old coals in the last two episodes, looking back from 35 yrs now  it all seems a bit petty and maybe could have been resolved if all parties had just stepped back a little bit after PWF, shame…

Yes, I agree 100%. I don’t give a crap about what happened when they were young and in SP3. Loved hearing about some behind the scenes quips about where they were physically and mentally during each record.

I tried to listen to the Cassandra Jenkins episode too but couldn’t get into it. Not a big of the host or his style but I respect the amount of effort he puts into the podcast.

Lets pick a thread from the fourth episode and ask the million dollar question - so, what lyrics by Pete were used unlawfully on Recurring?

Can this be proved? This actually does sound like possible, but if some old-timer can put a foot down about this, then that would be smiling.

(Being a fan for a long time and the time is not the nuance here, i had no idea about this.)

Not that my opinion matters, but they were young, stupid and drugged up. Who cares about all what happened? Bygones. Spacemen 3 lead to some many great albums by everyone involved. The careers they had after SP3 were/are iconic. That's a better story than some grudge into old age. Such a shame to keep holding on to he said / he said. How else did they expect to end or carry on?

Thanks for the reality check, Hans, but i will not burn down my library, only because nobody cares about nobody. You are making a valid point, but this way living a life is also pointless. It's all only about opinions anyway and memory shakedowns, but i'm not building a statue out of the opinions neither. It's all just air and dust in the wind. I truly love every spin off that came after Spacemen 3. Maybe one cliche that can be used about the demise of SP3 is what would you prefer "a horrible ending or endless horror"?

Unlawful in what way?

Thats the reason i hope people actually even bother to listen to that episode of that podcast. It's something that Sonic mentions and any true heads of the band would pick out! That's the trick. I didn't know about it, BUT actually my memory has starting to come back piece by piece and i think it indeed has been mentioned somewhere that it was that Billy song to which Sonic had actually written the lyrics and... well, rest you can hear from that podcast.
