Warp 10+3 Remixes
This might have already been discussed, but it bears repeating.
I came across a Warp 10+3 Remixes album that has a "Tied Up (Spiritualized Electric Mainline Remix)" song on it. It is rather good and it sounds like Spiritualized circa Pure Phase. Can anyone give me more info on the song (what is the original, etc)?
Thanks.

Re: Warp 10+3 Remixes
It's an LFO track. The mix was done in 1999, and I can't recommend Warp highly enough.toomilk wrote:This might have already been discussed, but it bears repeating.

when LFO released their tied up single, it was released on 2 x 12", one 12" was the original mix (in blue sleeve I think), and one 12" the spiritualized electric mainline mix (in red sleeve).
they werent released in 1999 though. more like 1995. I bought mine from HMV in manchester when I was a student, and I left Manchester in 1997.
Jason also remixed a global communication track at exactly the same time, which was released as a 12" by dedicated. (the maiden voyage ep).
jason discusses them here :

part of the GC track eventually went onto to be written into Let It Flow.
you can buy the global communication remix on the recently remastered and released version of their seminal 76:14 album. in all good record shops

My bad. Should have said the Warp release 10+3 was in 99. As well as 10+1 and 10+2. But they were complilations of earlier things if I remember rightly. In my defenese I posted the first message at almost one o' clock in the morning

I think Sonic's remix of Benny's Trip is the best ex-Spacemen remix I've heard, in fact it was the first time I ever paid for a download...Pete's probably happy I couldn't find it on eDonkey, Soulseek or any other d/l!TheWarmth wrote:Are there any other good Spaceman remixes aside from these and the 22-20's and Editors tracks?
I converted it to .wav and for 192kbps compression it sounds pretty good burnt to CD, even on a decent hifi. Every time I tried to buy the 12" the 4AD site seemed to crash...spooky
best, agreed.mojo filters wrote:I think Sonic's remix of Benny's Trip is the best ex-Spacemen remix I've heard, in fact it was the first time I ever paid for a download...Pete's probably happy I couldn't find it on eDonkey, Soulseek or any other
indeed you missed a beautiful piece of vinyl by just downloading it.
but i must disagree with Pete's hype about Magnetophone. they are not worth more than any other retro electronic outfit. senseless... maybe it's the case of protecting the band that wants to cooperate with him.
but Jase hypes are full of magic.
when will we see more of Jase scripts and recommendations? step out of the studio control room and show us the light of your mind.

Thankyou to Satellite for the 'Maiden Voyage' mix - awesome! I've never heard that one before so cheers all round!
There's a definite lineage there from that track to the 22-20s 'Hold On' mix oddly enough, with the horns 'and that'.
The Obscured Editors mix is a cracker as well, more d r o n e s from the masters - with a bit of help from D.I.V. Cool.
Still haven't gotten round to the a-side though...
