Spacemen 3 Live in Beirut?

It's fairly unlikely you'd have made it here without ever having heard of Jason's previous incarnation. So here you go, talk away...

Spacemen 3 Live in Beirut?

Post by catweazel »

Did this ever happen?

---

Okay - I only meant to send 3 copies but it's now 16...No more pms/emails please. Everyone who has sent me a postal address will get the discs. I hope you all enjoy them and please share them in their original form as lossless .Flac files.

Over n' Out.

I refer the reader to the above post.

Housing problems persist...they turned out to be shrewd conmen looking for people who were born yesterday. I referred them to the maternity ward in Lewisham hospital.

still...we're getting there.

Merry Christmas people!

It's worth noting serious generosity when it appears.

A candidate for gesture of the year from catweazel! Good luck with the housing thing - I've been there myself and it's no fun at all.

Cheers man!

(reply I just sent to a PM I just received..)

Note about the discs:

They won't play in any stand-alone dvd player because they are encoded as .Flac files. You need to play them on your PC.

Have you played .Flac files before? If not, get a .flac "plug-in" for whatever program you use to play music on your computer. I.e if you are using 'winamp' then just do a web search (google) for "winamp" ".flac plug-in". That should work.

If you cannot open the discs at all - try another drive. My pc burner is on it's last legs (to say the least) but I checked all the discs (well...most) on my wifes' laptop and they worked fine.

I hope this helps.

(head over to 'The Pirate Bay' and search...Luckily for us (without a DimeADozen acount) this one is public so no registration needed.)

It's not mine so credit to the uploader - Cheers Mate!

My copy just arrived. Thanks again to catweazel for the generosity to share this gem out.

As promised above, I'm going to send two further copies out to the first 2 PMs with name and address I receive, on condition that they do likewise (cos fair is fair, after all). :D

I'm posting this publically because I can't be bothered to make individual replies...This is the 3rd such message I have received on the same topic...

Catweazel :

Did you send me a (2) dvd set of Spacemen 3 ? If, so thank you very much !!!

However, it won't play on my dvd nor my computer ?

Richard Spaceman

---------

It will NEVER play on your dvd player unless by some miracle you can play .Flac files on it....(so far the closest I have seen is a modded xbox 1 with media centre installed).

If it does not play on your PC - try another one...the discs don't play in my dvd drive but they load up fine on my wifes laptop. People above have also managed to get them working without any problems.

Jebus...s'all I can say. Didn't I make it clear they were all .Flac files when I made the offer? There's also a 'detailed and thoroughly exhaustive' guide above this post on how to play them.

A belated big thanks for this.
I got mine tru the post a few days ago. Lots of gigs i've never heard before even a live cover of some kind of love (velvet underground) from 1986.

May post some individual tracks on here over the coming weeks.

Thanks again a really cool thing to do.

hello everyone!

I was just wondering if we could maybe see a list of what the 28 shows are, just to know what exists on tape?

I have 8 shows I've collected over the last year, and know of 4 more that I don't have yet.

And could some of them maybe appear on the Sound of Confusion hub?

thank you very much!

clearly there is a lot to look forward to in the SP3 trading world

the tape from Barbue in Copenhagen is a good one, perhaps the best recording of the first half of that tour

has anyone ever learned the source dates for the Bomp! release "Spacemen are Go! Live in Europe 1989" ?

I'm pretty sure a lot of it is from Spielboden 89, but I've never listened to both side by side to confirm.

How can I get those DVDS?

I put some of my tapes at DIME and in fact some of them were posted here so people can grab it.

Example: Notre Dame Hall concert, Rose Club concert, and the list goes on.... around 8-9 shows posted in DIME.

If someone can send me the DVDS or if there is way I can get them, would be very grateful. Thanks a lot
