Death In Vegas return: 'Your Loft, My Acid'

Post by BzaInSpace »

Woah! Listen to this. Was gonna fire this in the 'what are you listening to now' thread but I think it's so good it deserves it's own thread... besides, I've actually been listening to this since last night since stumbling over it on this blog:

http://www.thelineofbestfit.com/2011/07 ... e-day-296/

This is epic, beautiful, haunting, and eerily psychedelic. This is what the last MGMT record shoulda sounded like. It starts off a bit Disco 3000 and proceeds to warp into something else entirely, like Kate Bush and Prince strung out and jamming in heaven...

Maybe.

Also on their site, album details announced, a double album version is available as well.

I really liked their last album, the acid-fried Satan's Circus, they seemed to progress big time with each album so I look forward to this one.

Double CD pre-ordered :D
It's nice to be liked,
But it's better by far to get paid.

Great news, didn't know if they were coming back with new material or not. Looking forward to seeing them again at the Electric Picnic in September. :D

Not mad about that track on first listen though. I also see that on the bonus cd there's a song called Moe Tucker, wonder if it's a cover of the Mary Chain tune on Munki?

Well mate... there's never any accounting for tastes on these boards eh. But really... to me this shit sounds like true future music. Despite no longer indulging I'd LOVE to hear this song while blasted out of my face in a dingy club with a single strobe light...

That would be amazing, but sadly the name "Moe Tucker" has been a lazy indie cooler-than-thou touchstone since year zero... hopefully Fearless and co. have made something truly deserving of her name.

Thought that was just for the wedding. I could swear I saw drinks in your pix.
I took an "Am I An Alcoholic?" test today.
I passed. Meaning i'm not.
Shocker!

It's not a drug, it's a drink!
But seriously... what do you make of that Death In Vegas tune?
Another soundbite for ya... like Parade produced by Eno.

not the same good bag as satan and not a new hands around my throat either (I like the intro but that´s probably because it reminds me of some of my own experiments)

I hope I will be more impressed by the album.

Death in Vegas has been one of those musical entities whose material I will purchase just because they made it. I've loved pretty much everything they've ever put out although Dead Elvis is probably my fave. I should have listened more before I bought Party Store though... (Yeah, I know it's by the Dirtbombs. I thought it was one of the lousiest albums of the year and it was by an artist/artist(s) whose material I also purchased without even thinking twice.)
