Threebie three

It's fairly unlikely you'd have made it here without ever having heard of Jason's previous incarnation. So here you go, talk away...

Threebie three

Post by dselevan2 »

Are we discouraged from buying the RSD this year?
Will anyone admit to hearing it or seeing it?
It’s been something I have wanted to hear for a bit.

It is another Space Age/Adamsam/Palmer thing. I won't buy it, but that shouldn't stop you.

If you have the Taang cd issue of Performance you will have already heard Threebie 3 as it is just the extra tracks from Melkweg 6/2/88 that didn't fit on the original Glass/Fire lp's.

I have the vinyl version of performance, and most other spacemen 3 records. I do not have or plan on getting a CD player, even though I wish I had one.

So true. But I’m streaming it now from Apple which is another back channel to Palmer.

There's an original for sale on eBay if that's of any interest: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Spacemen-3-T ... 3674214828

Damn that’s awesome. Sucks it’s $35 to ship to us, but probably worth it. Now I have to really think hard.

I wonder why they made this album look like Dreamweapon. Are they connected in any way?

Well Threebie 3 was released first in 1989 as an additional 12" to accompany Playing With Fire. Dreamweapon was then released on Fierce in 1990 as a semi-bootleg(?), so Fierce probably just liked the design.
Musically there is no connection other than both are 1988 live recordings.

apologies if this has been answered before but why is the SQ of the Threebie tracks so much better than those on Performance if it was the same gig ?

Wasn't it remastered by the same studio as "Fucked up inside"?
