San Francisco Shows from 2001-2003
Hello All,
Here are three Spiritualized shows from 2001-2003 and a Primal Scream show from 2000 that I taped. The second disc of the 2003 show has the acoustic set from Amoeba on 11/12 that I raced home from work to go see. I didn't have editing software at the time, so there's a couple of tracks that have ID's dropped in the middle of songs and a bit of silence at the beginning of the 2003 show as I was adjusting my levels. Everything was ripped directly from my DAT masters, so no loss of quality/lineage.
Enjoy,
JR

These shows are brilliant JR, thank you so much for taking the time to share them with us. They sound fantastic.
Especially enjoying the Fillmore show, the quality is amazing for a 2001 show. Cop Shoot Cop first track, perfect Sunday listening : )

You're welcome, Tufty. I appreciate the kind words and I'm really glad to hear you're enjoying them. The 2001 show is my favorite as well. Love that poster, I have one in my basement!
I was up front for the Primal Scream and the 2001 & 2003 Spiritualized shows. For the 2002 show at the Warfield, I was in the balcony, so I ran the mics down my leg, clipped them to my shoe and hung my foot off of the rail!
All of them were done with an Sony M1>DSM-6S/L - PA6LC3.
Enjoy your Sunday everyone!

Re: San Francisco Shows from 2001-2003
Big thanks.
I don't think I've ever had/heard the 2001 show from the Fillmore.
I've always had the show from 2 nights later at The Wiltern.
I've often considered that 2001 tour to be the pinnacle of the band and that lineup.
You can certainly hear the difference in dynamics between the 2001-2002 shows.
I always love hearing shows I've never heard before.
Especially from that era.
The recording sounds very nice.
It's much appreciate on this end.

Hi,
Can you repost the files on WeTransfer again? The links seemed to have expired. Thanks.

You're very welcome, thanks for the kind words. I am so glad you enjoyed it. Yes, I agree, 2001 was one of the high points of the lineup, those shows were incredible. Followed closely by the 2007 Acoustic Mainlines tour...good dope/good fun wrote: ↑Thu Oct 07, 2021 12:27 am Big thanks.

This is easily my favourite (new) recording I have heard recently. The more I listen to it I more I love it.
Massive thank you to JR and thespaceman for sharing this wonderful show x
*Changes from JR's original upload - all tracks have been normalized in audacity; I also split Take Me To The Other Side and Come Together into two separate tracks. L&G Elvis has been removed.
Re: San Francisco Shows from 2001-2003
That would be great. Thanks.

jr_pharmasist & Tufty:
Thanks so much for this. Late 2001 they didn’t give a fuck about kicking out the jams when most bands sure didn’t…
What a gig - it’s like over two hours long. The horn section adds a lot that’s for sure. Epic sound
I’d never heard this one before, wish I had done. Being there must have been something else: ‘Don’t just do something’, ‘Walking with Jesus’, ‘Let it flow’, ‘I think I’m in love’ and most of the rest of it sounded absolutely astonishing.

Re: San Francisco Shows from 2001-2003
Bza,
Thanks for the kind words, I am so glad you enjoyed it. I think this was the best performance I've seen them put on as well. Just epic. I got there early, so I was just a few feet off of the stack, which is why there isn't very much crowd noise.
I didn't do a lot of trading all of those years ago, I just didn't think about it. I just taped and burned them to cds to archive them. I was going through a box about a month or so ago and found them and thought you all would appreciate them. I am so glad you are. Am smiling.

Any chance that someone could share the San Francisco shows that jr_pharmacist posted? The links expired. Thanks.
Re: San Francisco Shows from 2001-2003
Just rocking in to thank you again, "JR"... The Fillmore 2001 show is my favorite of pretty much every live show I have... maybe of all the Spiritualized that I've ever been to as well! Frankly, the climax to "Don't Just Do Something" is one of the most glorious moments of any concert I've been to ever, so having a recording of it is such a gift. So happy to have experienced it with you and all the friends, bud!

Re: San Francisco Shows from 2001-2003
All,
I've received a few requests for a repost of the shows... Stoked that this thread has 900+ views. I hope you are all enjoying theses shows.
All three are from my DAT masters, so there is no generational loss. I didn't have editing software at the time, so there are track markers dropped in the middle of a couple of tracks.
The first one is Tufty's cleanup of the legendary 2001 show. The other two have not been edited at all. They are all fantastic.
