Solana Beach, CA (4/14/22)

Post by toomilk »

Great to finally see them again! Good sounds, funky beer. The older songs were ripping, but they're still working the kinks out of the new ones live.

If you follow me on Instagram, I posted a lot of videos of it. umatheremin_

I was there in front of Jason (as always). Briefly ran into him before the show and made an awkward fool of myself gushing over the last 2 albums. I really wanted him to play “Always Together With You”, but he doesn’t like the way it sounds live at the moment, said he thinks it needs an orchestra. I heard them sound check “crazy” before the show, which has not debuted yet. I really adore EWBANH and would be perfectly fine hearing nothing but those songs on this tour, that first Dallas show must’ve been a trip.

Favorite song was Let It Bleed, which I recorded on video and will upload it when I get back in town. I recorded the whole show in audio form. Got J’s setlist as well.

Any musical moments when the roof came off? How was the light show? Though we have tickets, I'm finding myself on the fence about seeing them in Detroit in September this time due to the setlist. If it's mostly a tame, balad heavy set without the strobes/classic Spiritualized experience, we may head to Bauhaus instead. I'm hoping this Spiritualized tour's setlist is not a repeat of Austin Psych Fest.
I think I feel it coming on

I've seen 3 dates and I wouldn't say it is ballad-heavy. Jason does the usual alternating heavy/soft/heavy/soft tracks. I always enjoy the shows and the band is tight. Best Thing You Never Had, Let it Bleed, The A Song - those 3 alone are worth the price of admission, IMHO and they've been ending w So Long You Pretty Thing which is one of my favorite live tracks. I've seen the Bauhaus reunion shows too and those have been really fun, too. Depends on what you're in the mood for, I guess.

Here's a video I uploaded from the show. I also shot Best Thing You Never Had, but didn't like how it turned out. Might post it later.

Here's a link to the entire audio recording (split tracks). If there are any audio engineers out there, please feel free to enhance the EQs to make it sound better (just let me know, so I can also get a copy!).

Here's the entire audio recording as a single unaltered file.

Awesome! Thanks for sharing! I just looked at your YouTube - we must have been standing right near / next to each other at the Troubador show. Do you have a full audio recording of that or other vids to share? Good stuff!!

Yup, I've got a few here...

I recorded the Orpheum show as well, but there's a better audio recording of it out there. I video recorded all of the ANH set from that show, I should get around to uploading it in it's entirety with the audio synced from the good bootleg that has circulated.

Thank you! I was at all of those shows w the exception of the Austin fest. The past 24 hours we have gone down a very very deep bootleg rabbit hole of Spz and beyond. Listened to an insanely perfect soundboard show of The Verve in Frankfurt 1994 earlier. Thanks for these - can't wait to listen to the Troub show. We have a copy of the Orpheum show that's good but I feel like the mix is not great cos you don't hear the guitars as well, will have to see if there's others. Cheers.

Thanks for sharing. I kind of figured this might have been the case after it disappeared.

Nice! Thanks! I have one of this show - I wonder if it's the same or a different one. :)
