Martin Duffy RIP

Post by mkb »

Member of Primal Scream, Felt and contributor to the Charlatans, Oasis and others. Wonderful musician, and from all the stories, lovely man. Much too young.

Bloody hell. Terry Hall gone too. Dreadful state of affairs.

A very depressing news section this week. Tragic on both counts. It’s been a bad year for such sad events. RIP twice over.

Massive loss. I will be playing the Menphis Sessions vinyl this weekend. Duffy is always so good but shines so brightly on this.

Such sad news. Just at the point before I got Screamadelica (life-changing), I went to Knebworth and it put me right off Oasis for life, but got me into The Charlatans. And of course Duffy was a huge part of that, stepping in for the late Rob Collins. I’ve read some truly lovely tributes, he’ll be hugely missed.

Duffy, Hall and Iain Templeton (Shack) all gone in a couple of days. Sad.

Literally only just found this out, but Iain Templeton had a recent new (solo) project called Solian. Turns out he was a decent songwriter which I didn't know - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_iW32f9b8T4
