Come on guys - we'll get used to it. It's only because there's been change that we're hesitant. Give it a few days and we'll all be off and running. Might take a few goes to get to grips with it all. I've noticed several bits that appear superior to the previous incarnation - looks like images may be possible here. I wonder if there's a weird swear filter on this one!

Interesting how similar the actual posting part feels to Will's freelovebabies site.[/url]

Not enough pictures for ya mate? What about this one? It looks to me like someone's fat arse down a tunnel.

It seems ok to me but I do prefer the threads reading up the way.

Ok - swearings in, but what about those little icons at the top: List, Img, URL. What the hell are they for. Code? What's that all about?

Seems we can write in [size=24]big letters[/size] too. Oh, seems not.

So Stevie - can you [color=red]moderate[/color]? Oooh! Pretty colours too. Oh, or not. Again.

I like it, more like some other boards i've seen. I like that I can change the time zone and that the posts start up at the beginning. I've seen boards like this that will take you to the most recent post you haven't read when you click on a subject, that'd be nice so you don't have to scroll down every time.

hey runcible, try mucking about with the preview function, took me a bit to figure out the colors. if you just highlight what you typed and then choose font colour it seems to work

The thing I liked about the old board was the 'backwards' way the posts were listed. I'm sure I'll get used to this new one pretty quickly though. It is probably better I guess.

It reminds me of Will's message board as well.

Quite impressed by the fact that I now joined this board before I was born!

Nope - been highlighting like a bastard yet no change to the font either in colour size or format. I give up - small and normal is how my machine likes it.

I've been away a few days. Was this announced prior to the change? What is the purpose? Is all the old stuff that had been posted to the board just gone now? There were many good threads that I was interested in reading since I've been going through a phase of strong curiousity about Spiritualized after seeing them live a few weeks ago. I'd be disappointed if all that info turns out to be lost.

Plus, this new Board actually reads correctly (instead of from bottom to top).

MY EYES ARE EXPLODING!

Woah, I just looked to the left for a Smiley to use and there is actually a Smiley with its eyes exploding.

I'm kinda freaked out.

Oh well.

Wow! We have Spell Check! I think I might get used to this!

I'll look into why the quotes, images, colours etc don't seem to be working for normal users. I reckon it's something our database guy can fix - I'll let you know how we get on...

I think its a settings thing, BBCode, Smilies and HTML etc. If they are all set to 'on' in the profile screen it seems to work ok, here at least.

Cheers,

I actually think this is all too bland. Not eye-friendly, too much white.
Anyway, what I want to know are all the old posts now gone forever?
There was some useful links posted on a couple of forums.

and I can't work the Code List Img things.
I'm actually quite close to sulking...

There's a message from our pharmacist in the new forum, he/she couldn't move the old messages during the upgrade but you can access them via this link: http://www.spiritualized.com/message

There is an option for a different color scheme in the profile, no other choices available yet but it should be easy enough for the pharm to get one setup. I could be wrong though, there is the distinct possibility Jason ordered up the cheapest web page package available and white/grey is all we get.

It would probably be great if I had a posh PC and a phat-as-fuck internet connection but on my steam-powered PC it takes about 10 minutes to load a thread. To be honest it's a right pain in the erse.

Well! we'll get use to it. It's the shock of loging for the first time and seeing all the changes, but basically, it's very much the same.
But what is important is the content, the info regarding the band etc..
So shut up about it, if you'll log on a web site for the first time it always take a while to get use to it, so no differences here, but shame to have lost some of the topics.
Happy swimming to all of you.

wow! since when did did board change! i haven't signed up too long ago...and must admit i haven't been here much since. i think it's a better board than it was tho...but i'm used to forums like this...nada surf has the same one...they have a diffrent skin but the idea is similar

i'm amazed that even when the old posts are gone, you've still managed to keep everyone's old post count and all the members! when nada surf changed boards a while back, we all had to sign up again...and start at zero, which was very frustrating for some of the regulars...
