I don't know.

But I do know that "Cheers" is filmed before a LIVE studio audience,if that helps.

channel four's pretty good in the mornings now isn't it? especially now we've got the test match series underway!

in answer to the above question- isn't it frank gironi of look out management? (same bloke manages the beta band and neil young)

It is indeed Frank, or it certainly was. A guy who actually phoned me in person to ensure he and Jason were part of an article I was putting together but who then resisted any further contact to contribute after his initial call despite endless attempts on the number he personally gave me. Like artist like manager.

Are all sitcoms filmed in front of a live audience now?
Have the days of canned laughter completly disappeared? Or has the canned laughter just got better?

In Frank Skinner's new sitcom on ITV, even the canned laughter sounds embarrassed by the pitiful quality.

I accidently saw a few minutes of that the other night and thought I was having an acid flashback.

The horror...The horror...

Do you suppose it's intentionally bad, like Garth Marenghi's Darkplace, or Casualty?

I am assuming that Casualty is intentionally bad...

Even if it is ironic it's still pathetic shite.

I would say that we've had a bit of a golden age for comedy these last few years with League of Gentleman,Peepshow,Pheonix,Office,Marion and Geoff,Chris Morris,Spaced, etc, etc.

There's just no reason to make a show that weak.

I got that best of 1970's "It's A Knockout" video the other day- funny.
Belgian guys trying to pole-vault over rapids whilst dressed as a horse at the same time as Germans are pelting ballons full of toxic waste, etc.
Stuart Hall can't breathe for laughing-That's comedy.
