Anyone here listen to and like Mark Lanegan?

Post by Jigme »

I think all of his solo albums are slightly unique and beautiful. His latest "Bubblegum" is no exception.

While listening to him, I can't help but think about JP and Spiritualized with all the references to religion, salvation, drug use and abuse in his songs.

When I met JP at an in store, I meant to ask him if he listened to Mark's stuff but forgot.

Does anyone else here appreciate Mark Lanegan's stuff?

I'm a big fan of queens of the stone age and have been meaning to pick up his album for a while. I'll get it at the weekend I think

If you have the cash, I would also make the suggestion that you pick up "Whiskey for the Holy Ghost"-- a great album of his from the early 90's.

Great call, Jigme. I've mentioned the name on a few posts before. Only got Field Songs & Bubblegum so thanks for the word on the Whiskey. I'll try to find it. Saw him at Reading this year. Came on-stage well late, did a blinding few songs. Nick Olivieri joined him (looking truly out of it) for a song or two then they hit curfew and got pulled. GUTTED ! ! !
